3. The third one looks like he is being sarcastic.
He explains something with simple words using right wing talking points.

I wonder why more people don't think he is insulting their intelligence when he does that.

9. No matter what the backdrop is......
Bush is still a fool. And a clown. Look at that last photo. I can almost read Bush's thoughts on that one.

He's thinking, "how did I do? I see the crowd is not laughing at me, so I must have done OK".

11. remember his trip to Halifax (Canada)?
His team didn't trust the hosts to come through (questioning our competence, at the very least!) so they sent one of their people in advance, to paw through our photo archives, select pics to be incorporated and enlarged, and transmit the artwork to D.C. for printing! Nonetheless, Dubya managed to sit in what appeared to be Stalin's chair. (I am told that the photo is actually not from the historic Yalta meeting, but still ...)

19. What's that old saying...
Something to the effect that, the more you brag about something the less effective you really are.

Generally used when a guy really starts spouting off (no pun intended hee-hee) about all the sex he's having. Translated to reality, it means he hasn't gotten laid in a very long time.

25. What the hell is going on in the chalkboard backdrop?
They can't have possibly put up an actual chalkboard, right? Is it a picture of a chalkboard? Is the whole background, dear god, a printed panel, a trompe loeil rendering of a fake wall as might be seen in an actual classroom? It looks like it, because of the weird light diagonal light reflections that appear to be wrinkles in the material.

The "banner" at the top was typeset with a font that is supposed to look like hand lettering. To give a classroomy feel of being printed in marker by a teacher. Then there's the faux chalk drawing on the faux chalkboard, an image of ye old one-room schoolhouse complete with flagpole in front.

After all the effort they put into set designing these things, the Chimp still looks less convincing than a Daily Show "news" correspondent. As his stage settings are getting more hysterically grandiose, Bush increasingly looks like he was cut and pasted in there like something out of an old National Enquirer.

32. That's right, reality isn't good enough
Reality can't possibly convey the might and majesty of our esteemed Superchimp. Somehow he's a folksy man-o-the-people, while at the same time occupying a higher plane of existence.

The way the visual elements of his stage settings are designed, with all vanishing points very formally drawing the eye to rest upon to His Chimpness, reminds me of those ancient paintings where the perspective centered on whatever deity was being depicted. And I'm sure it's used here for the same reason: to impress on the viewer a sense of this person being a sublime figure of authority, both earthly and spiritual.

Now excuse me while I throw up in my shoe.

Feast your eyes on these marvels of graphic manipulation, Batgirl! Let's hope that "backdrops" are going to be a category in this year's Academy Awards!

33. The first two pictures remind me of "My Pet Goat"
I am surprised they would want to evoke that image again--hardly the image for a fearless, wartime leader. To say nothing of the fact that NCLB is to my mind an overpriced, colossal failure.
