1. Joe is a fixture in New York building trade circles.
His Union, the Enterprise Association of Steamfitters Local 638 of the United Association are descended from the original Knights of Labor. The 19th CENTURY Knights of Labor. Old school hard core.

Joe won't brag about it, but the Fitters are considered to be the best welders in the WORLD, even by Ironworkers,
and THAT'S saying something.

4. Thanks Billy
There is a certain amount of pride we hold, that's why I work so hard trying to find the denim clothes we need for our job. I even explain to these companies that all my fitter friends, as well as iron workers would be interested in made in USA work wear.

Yeah, I know quite a few fitters who can weld almost anything and fellas who have run work around the world.

One of the greatest things is to hear the history of some of these guys, where they have been and what they have seen.

3. It was an idea I had way back...
from the about me:
Why anti-union.blogspot.com ?
This site is dedicated to Lawyer/PR man, Rick Berman, who works as a lobbyist for the corporate war against unions and the working class. His MO is to start websites who falsely claim to be factual and through truth, half truth and out right lies, misinform the public, unions are not his first campaign and I'm sure it will not be his last.
Heres an interview from http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/05/60minutes/main2653020.shtml">60 Minutes and a http://unionreview.com/center-union-facts-anti-union-lobby-its-worst">Full Story I wrote.

I guess I have gotten to where I wanted to be, just type anti-union into Google and see who is in the top 3 always. Notice Center For Union Fact's right there with me.

5. Oops, I meant anti-union blog
If you just type anti-union into Google, I'm all the way down the page, hit #7.

Getting top hits on Google is a huge part of what we are doing, doing it on no budget is even more difficult, take, for instance the search for "http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=KYc&q=john+mccain+health+care+plan&btnG=Search">John McCain health care plan", about 2 months ago, when I wrote the story, I was nestled at #1, but with a lot of money being spent by the McCain camp, and McCain/Obama supporters, I have slipped to #7.

Take another example, NY retailer "Yellow Rat Bastard", who screwed their employee's out of wages, I wrote an article "http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=11&url=http%3A%2F%2Fanti-union.blogspot.com%2F2008%2F02%2Fnyc-yellow-rat-bastards-owner-turns-out.html">Yellow Rat Bastard Owner Turns Out To Be A Scumbag", that was #2, second only to their own website in searches for "http://www.google.com/search?q=yellow+rat+bastard&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla">Yellow Rat Bastard". Through a lot of work on their end, they have made a lot of postings around the net to drive me down to #11, among them, creating their own WikiPedia page.

And for all those pedophiles out there, just type in "http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=SpH&q=underage+pregnant++mexican+teen&btnG=Search">underage pregnant Mexican teen" into Google.

Right now the biggest Google hit's I am getting is for a review of one of the latest conspiracy movie's making it's way through the net, getting hits for the search term "http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=zeitgeist%20addendum%20reviews&btnG=Google%20Search&aq=f&oq=">zeitgeist addendum reviews", not exactly a union type of movie, but it's getting people to the site.

I would rather people were coming to view actual union news, but that only happens when people are actually hurting from something that is directly happening to them, probably the biggest problem with our country is that there is no empathy for other working people's struggle. We lost that somewhere along the way.

I get a tone of hit's through Google, I understand computers and search engines, I have a way of getting noticed.

I think that Mr.Berman and myself have a lot in common, and although he comes off like a raging lunatic when he speaks, he isn't a stupid human being by any stretch of the imagination, quite the opposite, his campaign against unions is actually being spread through the social conscience of the American public. Its social engineering at it's finest.

So what is social engineering? It's how virus writer's get you to open the e-mail containing the trojan.

Some would equate Mr. Berman as a vampire who gets you to invite him into your home. He comes up with fun sounding companies such as "http://www.americanrightsatwork.org/the-anti-union-network/employee-freedom-action-committee-360-360/">Employee Freedom Action Committee". It's why they have terms like "right to work", they get people to beg for things that are against their own best interest.

They are getting better at what they do, and labor is now doing a catch up. Only time will tell if working people who are in the crosshair can figure out what is factual information, that's where I come in. Thats why I need help. More writers, more commentator's, more information at my site, in here, at http://unionreview.com">Union Review, at http://uniongal.blogspot.com/">UnionGal, on DailyKos diaries that deal with labor.
