Teamsters Local 332 charges hospital with unfair labor practices
By Dawn Jones

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -- (01/16/09)--The National Labor Relations Board is ordering Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc Township to reinstate eight employees who were let go by the hospital last spring.

Teamsters Local 332, which represents the workers, filed the complaint charging the hospital with engaging in unfair labor practices.

The union says without warning, the hospital released a dozen bio-medical technicians last April.

During the staff meeting, they were told that their jobs were being outsourced to Trimedx. They were escorted out of the building by security and not even allowed to go back to their desk to get their personal items out of their desk.

To add insult to injury, the union says the workers were forced to sign a severance agreement.

They were given 60 days of pay but they were forced to sign a severance agreement that was not negotiated by this union that we didn't even see until it was put before them to sign.
