EVANSVILLE (WFIE) - AT&T call center workers take a break from their work day to let the community know they are no longer working under a contract.

Dozens of employees in Evansville formed a line along Vogel Rd. Friday afternoon in an informational picket.

They want the phone company to meet with the Communication Workers of America (CWA) to work out a new contract.

According to Tim Strong, President of CWA 4900, "We would like higher wages and better job security. We want assurance these jobs will stay here. We want retirement security for our folks. We want them to have a pension plan that will at some point let them eventually retires and live their lives."

Reresentatives from AT&T say they are ready to meet with the union again to work out a four year contract, and plan to offer a pension plan and contribute to current employees 401k
