Southwest Airlines and Teamsters reach agreement

http://dallas.bizjournals.com/dallas/stories/2009/12/28/daily11.html

Southwest Airlines Co. has confirmed that the airline has reached a tentative agreement with the union that represents the carrier’s stock clerks.

Dallas-based Southwest (NYSE: LUV) said it reached the agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

The proposed agreement is for five years and would end in August of 2013. The proposal includes wage and benefit increases, contract flexibility and work rule changes, Southwest said in a statement.

The IBT members still have to approve the agreement before it takes effect.
