JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The symphony lockout is over.

Kevin Casseday, Orchestra Committee Chair and Spokesperson, told First Coast News a contract has been ratified.

The players had been locked out since November 12th, and a number of shows have been canceled.

The Jacksonville Symphony Association says the two sides agreed to a five year deal which starts immediately.

"We are fortunate to work with some of the finest musicians in the country, and we couldn't be happier to welcome them back on stage," said JSA Chairman Jim Van Vleck.

"While the past few months have been difficult for everyone, our patrons in particular, we have ultimately come to an agreement that is in the best long-term interest of the symphony. We are confident that this agreement gives us the opportunity to balance the budget moving forward and continue providing our patrons with wonderful concerts and community experiences."
