Anyone reading His Panic?

I know, I know... it is from Geraldo Rivera but I wanted to know his position. I do not necessarily like his politics but what he has to say is very uplifting. He attacks most of his FOX News comrades on their Immigration positions, specially O'Reilly. He is also very critical of Lou Dobbs.

Here's a link to a preview of the book.

Don't bother looking at the reviews of the book. You might find a hate fest from people who never even read the damn book. I'm still reading, it isn't perfect but there's hope.

1. Changed my mind...
It isn't uplifting... It is painfully mediocre.

I might take the book for my next camping... to build the fire.

3. now you've got my interest up
what leads to your change of heart, what gave you a favorable impression when you started? you sound a bit defensive going in, so why do you read celebrity books in the first place?

4. That would teach me to make a critique once I'm done reading...

The fact that he almost got into a fight over immigration with O'Reilly and is now searing Lou Dobbs attracted me to this "celebrity book" (I read Al Gore's book too by the way). Plus i needed a book on a known Latino stance on Immigration reform for a school paper and decided to give it a try. At first I thought it was a serious read from a Latino stand point. Then half way through the book I realized how full of himself this guy is, he flatters himself too damn much. Just because you critique a couple of other celebrities for their immigration stances does not make you a reformer. He was also implying that he was part of the Young Lords, he was just a lawyer at the time who maybe gave legal counsel to the group. That right there is an outrage.

5. i gather you were looking for non-fiction
as there's a montón of novels that revolve around immigration. one can derive a keen sense of community attitudes from fiction. if you're pursuing the topic, see if you can get The Devil's Highway: A True Story. Luis Alberto Urrea.
