With colorectal cancer, have your eating habits changed?

I find that I rarely eat red meat anymore. I always loved it, and am great at cooking all forms of it, but I really have no desire to eat it now.

During chemo and initial treatment (when the tumor was worse - it was 8 to 10 cm, so pretty big for the colon - Stage III - I really couldn't have any. Now, post-neoadjuvant (meaning pre-surgery) chemo and radiation, now that I've had time to build up strength again, I find I can eat some, but I really don't crave it any more. Instead I'm more drawn to things like hummus and tabouli and some pure carb things (noodle, whether ramen or spaghetti or rice or whatever). I can do fish, but I just instinctively am not interested in red meat anymore. I'm sure it's healthier anyways, but I thought it was an interersting change. I also eat a lot more fruit than I used to. Not intentionally trying to be healthy, but that's just what I crave.

1. I was brought up in the time...
... when red meat was on the table every night. I just don't remember much chicken or fish.

Now, it's just the opposite. More vegetarian, more fish and chicken. Frankly, I don't even like pork, lamb or sausage.

However, gimme an aged tenderloin, and I'll start drooling. But even that rarely happens.

As for hamburg --- I have a nutty fondness for Burger King, but restrict myself to ONE visit per year! That makes it a real treat.
