His job as a reporter is to try and dig information. I think he was doing his reporter digging. Sure, it was a question that potentially advantaged the right but I honestly don't think that was his motivation, and even if it was, a reporter should dig for answers. I don't begrudge the right an occasional angle. The right are dirt throwers but Blitzer was the arm and not the brain of this attempted throw.
