Got this from my Veterans For Peace board:

Here is a FANTASTIC idea for any huge room or lobby with a high ceiling. Could easily be used outdoors in low or no wind environment. UNSTOPPABLE PROTESTING FUN!!!

For best results use extremely light tissue paper sheets and 1/16" x 1/16" balsa spar near top to hold open (both available at hobby store), permanent marker for writing message, and appropriate number of helium balloons. Use some weight if necessary for slight positive buoyancy.

This rig should be easy to sneak in anywhere (everyone loves balloons!).

Whip out hidden rolled up tissue banner, assemble and LET THEM FLY!!! (like the video below from the NYC Grand Central Station)
Latex rubber leaks helium over a few hours. Use the more expensive mylar for longer "flights".

10. Thanks! Here's a rough outline of what I have in mind
You know those envelopes they use to send FedEx letters?

They're made of a combination of paper and fiberglass, similar to the Tyvek Home Wrap used to seal houses.

The FedEx envelopes have the advantage of being given away FREE, and are paid for by a far-right-wing Repuke contributing company.

It's fairly light-weight and durable stuff.

What I'm working out is developing two types of balloon-bloggers with the stuff.

Balloon Blogger Mark II:
A very basic "carpet-bag" type design made from FedEx envelope material, that would simply fit over a large balloon, or bundle of smaller ones. At the bottom would be the "mounting bracket" to hold banners.

Balloon Blogger Mark III:

A semi-rigid dirigible design made from FedEx Envelope material. It would have tail fins to keep it stable and pointed in one direction (into the wind). Basic shape would look like the balloons from WWII that they used to defend against air raids.

Or, like a smaller version of this:

6. It's a cool event. But those high ceilings...
Not exactly eye-level. Nevertheless, nicely done.

If you aren't going to a mjor event that weekend - Pentagon WDC, LA, Chicago etc. PROTEST locally -join your local ST> Pat's parade- with or without permission, a peace float or just attend with perhaps a simiar banner held by ribbons with friends....or????

Yes, I do like it.
