Love him or hate him, he brings more knowledge of history to the table than many other tv pundits.

7. He fancies himself a modern George Orwell
Orwell was anti-fascist and somehow Hitchens bought into the "Saddam is Hitler" meme and took the Orwellian position against authoritarianism ignoring all else.

4. It's just the basic thing take the drugs trade out the hands of gangsters and potential terrorist >

it's how they are funded. Half the crazy behaviour is down to mind altering substance. You end most the violence against their own people and troops by sorting out the drugs thing. Don't get how it's over loooked. It's the drugs cupid.

6. He looked less drunk than usual.
Maybe he only had 3 bloody marys for breakfast instead of a whole bottle of scotch.

8. Right and Wrong

He has some facts straight. But there is one big issue with him and Dawkins. First we know Hitchens is too right wing neo-con, so he's strange bedfellows with the fake Christian righties. Secondly, they are so enamored that the cause of all these woes is religion, and that it's not merely a tool of the elite who want to set people and nations against each other over something that was intended originally to bring folks together.

There is valid reason to loathe the mis-use to lead sheeple, but he's as much a dunce as they are if he thinks that's the top of the pyramid. Not even close. Hitler is a prime example, as mentioned above. Juxtapositioned as a 'Christian' he secretly hated Christianity and was Pagan, as was Stalin and Mao, who together killed well over 100 million last century, probably 100 times than the Crusades and all religious fanaticism and sacrifice combined in all of history.

The most powerful of empires that killed innumerable people, the Pagan Roman Empire and Genghis Khan -also Pagan. Their personal hatred of Christianity regardless of what they choose to ignore, and how it can be non-productive is reminiscent of the right wing anti-choice radicals who want to 'save that baby no matter what (rape? who cares!)' but scream for zero help to any poverty stricken children they'll likely find themselves born into being.

Fix the problem, not the blame and not one's personal vendetta. Some Christian someplace in his youth must have beat the shit out of Hitchens and got him drinking to forget the trauma. Get therapy dude. What a waste of an obviously intelligent mind that would be better served attacking the one pulling the strings, than just the puppet, in this case, religion.

9. You're living in a total fantasy world. The West murders 15 million children
each year - by starvation. And it's been going on for at least 70 years. How many do you reckon that would add up to, in comparison with Mao, Stalin, etc?

Here are a few figures:

11. what?
You are throwing around the word "pagan" a bit too much. Hitler was not a pagan at all, there were elements of paganism (runes, astrology etc.) in the Third Reich, Himmler among them who were interested in occult and pagan folklore and incorporated it pseudo rituals they conducted. But Hitler had nothing to do with that, he was a Catholic through and through. Generalizing foreign belief as being "pagan" and then stating that "well see those evil pagans killed more people than the Christians" is nothing short of silly. Sounds like typical run of the mill Christian fundamentalist fear mongering to me.

10. Even though I disagree with Hitchens on a lot of things, especially the war,
but not on religion, I always find him to be an amusing old drunk.
