Really Nixon and his gang got away with it. He spent a few years in exile but by the time he died, was back to being an "elder stateman". We saw some of the same players turn up again for both IranContra and Bush 43's administration. As long as they aren't held accountable they'll just keep coming back and each time they'll be worse. That is why the Obama administration must go after them.
