5. "dick" is the truly evil one.
I don't even know what else to say right now. I knew we would be getting info about what they did, but I still am horrified at some of the things that have come out. And it is just the tip of the ice berg.

8. Insanity
We are supposed to hold these people, without trial, without knowing whether they are guilty or not until they die, 20, 30, 40, 50 years from now? Repigs are filth.

9. The more that comes out the more bad Cheney looks I think Bush only wanted Saddam and 2 terms>
Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 09:12 PM by cooolandrew
once Bush had got those thing he didn't have much interest. BUT Cheney he is center and pivotal to some of the worst war crimes. Cheney didn't want to talk to Iran he wanted to decimate Iran it looks that simple to me. He lost 2 major things in that objective support for the war and former president's support of him.

15. Cheney is criminal to the core
and belongs either on the end of a rope or in the federal lock up for the criminally insane at Butner, North Carolina. I wonder what secrets he'd reveal if water boarded. In that he's a war profiteer, it would be reasonable to seize his and his family's assets.
Somebody ought to just beat the fucking shit out of him.

16. Cheney
Cheney seems to have the world view of a 12 year old. He made decisions you would usually find in cartoons. He sure didn't let facts or science or reason or precedent or logic or unintended consequences or the best interests of the United States or International Laws and Treaties interfere with his decision making, did he?

18. A HUGE K & R! Now if only Congress and the DoJ would -
- get together and round up the criminals of the b00sh/Darth Cheney cabal, and give whistleblowers a 'pass' so we can put these assholes on trial and in jail.

cheers

If you look at last nights Rachel with him on he stated explicitly that Obama is BLOCKING INVESTIGATIONS INTO BUSH ADMIN WAR CRIMES!

Therefore, he is as complicit in the crimes as the people that committed them!

Seems like an imbecile move to me. Not to mention treasonous.

20. Question.....Why would Obama do this if true?
Has everyone's lives been frickin threatened that have the power to take care of these criminals? Obama doesn't shit without a plan, so my question is WHY would he block the investigations? And if it's for no other reason than to let the old admin off, and not any other rationale behind it, then yes, he would be 100% complicit to these crimes too.

Still, I believe (hope?!? Naive?!?) that there is a good reason he may be doing this and we will see why soon. There were many things he said or did, or did not do during the campaign that made me question, but in the end (like addressing Palin's BS about Ayers etc) he handled his campaign rather deftly and let the Repugs hang themselves. This is why I question the WHY he would block investigations, without a damn good reason.

Maybe to let them feel safe and get enough info so it sticks HARD.

Cheers
the perplexed and would LOVe to see the link to mentioned video

21. Thanks, Sandy
Whenever I hear Obama speak, he is so friggin' elegant and precise with his words I find it inspirational. I'm referring specifically the Kroft interview where he discusses Cheney. Precise, even very well chosen words. If you listen again to that interview intently, it does give one hope that Obama has an extremely well constructed plan to deal with Bush traitors.

A Professor of Constitutional law would not let any of this stand if they were in a position to do something about it.

What irks me is the thought that there are more pressing matters. If the house's foundation is crumbling, you don't go out and get new drapes to fix it.

The War Crimes and how we deal with it will help define America to the World. Are we a nation of hypocrites or a nation based on the principals of our Founding Fathers? I prefer the latter, but I feel like I'm in a minority of about 5%% of the rest of America.

22. In some respects Jim we are simply a country with -
severe ADHD! There are so many people that will say 'why bring up the past' but I do believe even those who question why (IF) we prosecute that they'll be to busy picking their jaw up from off the floor than question why any more....

And those that say it's political suicide, I say BULLSHIT! If he starts it now, appointing a SP, it should be over long before the elections and remember point number one - the country has ADHD anyway.

Thanks Jim for the link, I caught it right after posting as I went back to the homepage. Made sure to K & R too!

Cheers
Sandy

25. "if the house's foundation is crumbling, you don't go out and get new drapes"
well, if the house is on fire do you tend to the crumbling foundation first?

More a point on principle, I think both can be pursued. It's not like Obama is dumb or has to do it all himself. As JT states, it's as clearcut a case as you can get.

The statement "effectively blocking" gives me a really bad feeling, but I can't believe Obama is gonna let the shredding of the constitution blow by.
I don't have my head in the sand either - if I have to believe it, I will.
