1. K&R Frank Sesno and I agree and that is basically what I have
said in the past. Hold their fucking feet to the fire! The media is way to lenient toward our representatives.

4. CNN's ratings are in the tank...
Through March 17, CNN trailed not only Fox News and MSNBC but also its own sister network, Headline News, on nine out of 17 days. On one day, March 13, CNN even drew fewer 25-to-54 viewers than CNBC -- the first time that's happened since November 2007. And of the eight days it finished higher than fourth in the demo, five were either Saturdays or Sundays, typically the lowest rated nights for the news networks.

13. They've been committing slow suicide for 10 years now
Republicans hated them in the 90s because they dared to not always completely trash Bill Clinton... then, when CNN bent over backwards to accommodate right wingers, they started pissing off liberals & moderates and lost them, but they still never won back the trust of the right wingers. So, basically, nobody is left for them. Liberals tend to watch MSNBC, conservatives have Fox News, CBS, NBC, CNBC, ABC and talk radio, while moderates have NPR, 60 Minutes and that's about it.

6. What cheap drugs was this ex-CNN hack on?
Quote at 6:07: "You know, I think Tim Russert did this very, very well - really hold peoples feet to the fire, and if they don't like it too bad."

Yeah right, Dick(head) Cheney was just reduced to a ball of quivering jello from Tim Russert's probing questions on Meet the Press.

Tim Russert is a tool. So sayeth the White House.

Memo to Tim Russert: Dick Cheney thinks he controls you.

This delicious morsel about the "Meet the Press" host and the vice president was part of the extensive dish Cathie Martin served up yesterday when the former Cheney communications director took the stand in the perjury trial of former Cheney chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

Flashed on the courtroom computer screens were her notes from 2004 about how Cheney could respond to allegations that the Bush administration had played fast and loose with evidence of Iraq's nuclear ambitions. Option 1: "MTP-VP," she wrote, then listed the pros and cons of a vice presidential appearance on the Sunday show. Under "pro," she wrote: "control message."

"I suggested we put the vice president on 'Meet the Press,' which was a tactic we often used," Martin testified. "It's our best format."

Now that's embarrassing. Notice they didn't pick Cheney's favorite network---FOX News.

11. Leak some lie to Judith Miller, she gets above the fold Sunday morning NYT.....
go on MTP citing your own leak, Russert lets it not only pass but uses it as fact for the next two weeks of TV appearances.

8. Unlikely, I think.
He's CNN's loudmouth populist answer to Fox and thus fills a niche. CNN sure has some crappy shows, Campbell Brown, too.

Sure there are places where things get a bit gray, but for issues based on well known facts, how can their be two sides to that? There is only truth and lies. They can justify it any way they want, though I think we are long past that point.

It is embedded in the format itself, and as Cenk pointed out, anyone deviating from that will labeled all kinds of negative things. Not always from their opposition either, I might add.

I am SICK of opinion being pawned off as solid news. It is what lead us to where we are today. Sure evil people will do evil things. Nothing new there. It is the PEOPLE that allowed everything to happen. That happened due mainly to ignorance, imo.

THAT is where the news supposed 'fair and balanced' presentation does it's most damage. Like Joe Friday said, "Just the facts."

but each side does not have a right to their own facts.

12. "Fair and Unbiased"
Come on now. This is news? They're ALL biased and they ALL present a fake neutrality. We (liberals) have MSNBC, CNN, CBS, New York Times, LA times,... Conservatives have Fox, ALL of "Hate"M Radio, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal,... There's IS a liberal media but the biggest critics of which will never admit to a conservative media which is just as predominant just in a different way. "We are right, you are liberal" is how they think so THEIR media isn't a conservative one, it's the "fair and unbiased" one. What a joke, it's like playing chess and saying there's only one color that's suppose to be on the board and any opponent that sits down to play is wrong merely because he/she is the opponent.

14. Liberals have CNN? What CNN have
you been watching? CBS? You are kidding, surely. And MSNBC has "Morning Joe". You consider Morning Joe liberal? Aside from Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann there is no liberal media.

15. Not AS liberal as Maddow and Olberman
but comparatively YES, they are more left. It's not obvious, that's the point, it gives the illusion of balance when you have a republican and a democrat and criticism of both on the same network. Think of C-SPAN; most of it is raw, unfiltered, TRULY unbiased but very bland compared to major news medias. There is a Liberal AND Conservative media and they're both just as powerful.

16. Sorry, I cannot agree.
And I don't see C-Span as truly unbiased. I did for a while but now it appears that guests on Washington Journal are selected to give Republicans an advantage. Watch the host this morning quote several 'news' articles, all unfavorable to President Obama. This happens every morning. Then a strong willed guest comes on-an advocate of the Republican position. Then we get a noticeably weak Democratic spokesman. Often one can't even tell the 'left' guest's party loyalty as they are so moderate in their views. And there is seldom a left leaning guest that has a chance to refute the claims of their counterpart.

I certainly don't see CNN as comparatively liberal. Until recently Glenn Beck had his own program! CNN gives priority to those talking heads that disagree with the President policy. When Bush was in office they repressed valid criticism of the Bush agenda, most importantly the Iraq War. Maybe CNN is liberal compared to the Reich Wing misinformation machine, Faux News, but it certainly does not lean left by any means.
