2. The argument that if the terrorists know what kind of torture we're using

will help them train against it, is stupid. Do terrorists practice drowning every day because they know they'll be waterboarded? How do you practice against someone holding your head underwater?

You know what, maybe we should spread the rumor that the CIA shoots all terrorists in the head, and maybe they'll all go shoot themselves in the head to practice for the CIA shooting them. Then the CIA wouldn't have to shoot them. That makes perfect sense according to pub talking points.

They can't really be that stupid.

but it's the first time I've heard something truly sensible coming from Roberts also. She's been such a Bush water-carrier for so long, she surprised me totally.
