Lol this is great, Matthews slams this guy from the conservative organization "Freedom Works", he says...

"You've had Reagan in charge, you've had George Bush first in charge, you had two terms of George Bush Jr and no time in that have I had somebody come on this show or anywhere else saying we have to get a republican health care plan to help uninsured people get insured. You guys are frauds, you don't do it."

"This guy (Obama) is the only guy since Truman with a chance to get a health care plan and you guys are trying to kill it."

3. Chris was damn good there.
Really beat that free-marketeer up, and told him at the end he (Chris) should've been nicer to him, but he completely opposes the righties on this one. God knows Chris disappoints sometimes, but I love the guy. When he's with us, he's with us, and when he's wrong, he's still got a good heart.

4. Second time tonight I've heard this:
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 02:44 AM by silverweb
"Let us buy (sell) insurance across state lines."

This is one of the nuggets of truth coming out, one of the things the insurance companies are pushing for: eliminating state regulation of health insurance companies.

That's their version of "reform" -- deregulation of health insurance companies.

If people fall for this bullshit like they did with the Enron crowd, history will repeat itself. Then "all the money you guys stole from those poor grandmothers in California" that the Enron scumbags laughed about will instead be, "all those stupid suckers you got to back us at the town halls, then dumped when they got sick."

The mf-ers are already smirking at the ignorant fools they're using, and will still be snickering and laughing as they step on bodies on their way to the bank.

18. Bingo! More deregulation!
And we've seen how well deregulation worked for the average American in the last 30 years or so.

So they want to open up the market across state lines. So this will enable me to buy an expensive policy from AL instead of an expensive policy from NC? GREAT!

But the idea is to increase competition across state lines.... to give people more choices. OK. Choice sounds good. Oh wait! What's the difference in creating choice that way and creating choice by offering a Government plan as well. That's what the Public Option is, no? (They'd say no)

Seriously, the PO is an OPTION, not an enforced law. If they're for opening up competition, then they should be for the PO.

So now the question is, why do these astroturf dupes think they will be forced into a Government plan? Is it the same reason they think the government is gonna kill their grandmother and force sex change operations and abortions? Yes. It's called disinformation. If the shouters and disruptors would shut up, the plan and the OPTIONS could be explained. But that would dissolve their argument of government takeover... which is not on the table.

So they can put on a suit and talk all adult-like, but it's still just LIES and MISINFORMATION and scare tactics.... and rioting.

20. "Competition" is just a buzz word they use.
The big corporations hate true competition as much as they hate any kind of regulation. The monoliths want their collusive monopolies and absolute power to do whatever they want.

Our "freedom" under corporations is only the freedom to make them rich. They toss enticements to us as bait trails to the mouse trap, while they strive for absolute freedom (deregulation) to use any kind of deceit and fraud they wish to increase their wealth.

Right now, the big health care corporations, their lobbyists, and the anti-anything-Obama manipulators are systematically and intensively cranking up the fear factor in the ignorant and xenophobic, literally whipping them into a frenzy.

That woman who, in tears, cried about "losing MY America," is truly terrified, but it's got nothing to do with health care. It's got to do with her fear that "those people" (including Obama) might take something away from her.

The REAL "those people" are already sneering at her and people like her as they manipulate her fears and, after pulling another Enron-type scam, will happily step over her body on their way to the bank.

23. Except that he should have pointed out the worthlessness of the "let us buy health insurance across
state lines" bit. His ignoring it made it seem as if the guy might have a good point that Chris just didn't want to acknowledge.

21. No, but he is part of the Brainwashing mechanism.
They are preying upon the group by looking like a nice, respectable Young man, and if he looks the part, then maybe a bunch of others will enlist in the group and go along with the Propaganda he's peddling, usually for some sort of profit or goal.

I knew about Edward Bernays a while back, but I just found a copy of his book Propaganda. Bernays is an interesting character, because he was related to Sigmund Freud, and borrowed a lot of technique and theory from his Uncle.

I was surprised to find out about Bernays, because someone had loaned me one of Wilhelm Reich's books, The Function of the Orgasm, which, despite the title is a scientific discussion on the root cause of mass psychosis, repression, and social control. Reich's explanations are very simple, and even more convincing.

One thing one learns is that Reich was working very closely with Freud in the early days, and at one point, they parted company, and became competitors. Considering that Reich was absolutely brilliant in his research, it is quite possible that Bernays played a role in his harrassment over the years, although I'm sure that Reich himself was responsible for some of it through his obstinate refusal to go along with what he called, "Mass Plague"

Reich's book is a must read for anyone interested in how the Media controls the masses, and how Government and social constraints can impose Society through propaganda, laws, and other means.

After I read the book, I started seeing the same patterns running prevalent though America today. We are most definately controlled, nudged and told what to think by mass media.

Now I found Bernays' book and it basically restates some of the conclusions I came to independently, but to see it in Bernays' own words is frightening, because it basically means that just about everything we are told or taught is for some sort of reason or another, which may not be for our best interest. This has caused me to go back to the period when this sort of Psychological control was put into place, the 1920's, and review history with a new set of eyes.

The current batch of Propagandists seem too stupid to be effective, but after I see the generally poor education and lack of independant thought in the masses, I have no doubt that these miscreants are just as effective today, as when they were shilling for Woodrow Wilson and World War 1.

We should join their website group (infiltrate) and warn the AFL-CIO and find out their plans and notify who we need to especially if it may turn violent.

22. I would call this an emotional, Ju Jitsu, Trojan Horse interview by Matthews.
Edited on Sat Aug-08-09 03:30 PM by Uncle Joe
It's not the gift it appears to be.

Matthews spent the Lion's Share of the Interview questioning and berating the Republican lack of movement on health care building all the energy up for the labor side while giving little time for Labor to make it's point. He cuts off the Labor leader during his limited time while he was making a critical point about the insured being screwed over along with the un-insured and then follows that up with a quick final question putting Labor dude on the spot, paraphrasing "Will they support the health care bill or bitch and moan about it because it's not enough?"

After all the emotional energy Matthews spent during that entire interview berating the Republicans for doing nothing for decades, the Labor Leader had little choice but to say yes, they will support whatever comes out. This is ironic considering Matthews aggressively questioned the Republican Protesters for yelling "no" and not knowing what they were objecting to, he then proceeds to get a commitment from Labor leader to support whatever comes out without knowing what that is!

I believe this was a subliminal means of Matthews working on behalf of the for profit "health" insurance corporations by getting a pre-commitment from Labor on a deal which is very much in flux. What if for example it's a bad bill?

Labor guy should have said we support full debate on the issue and will make a determination of support when we actually see the bill, or state what they do believe in, of course Matthews knew that would be difficult for him to say, after having spent most of the interview berating the Republicans for doing nothing and then giving Labor short time to think or respond.

I see this as just more corporate media manipulation.
