MSNBC Countdown w/ KEITH OLBERMANN - 4 Sep. 2009: Olbermann DESTROYS FOX's Glenn Beck - Again! He starts out with more factual debunking of Beck's lunacy this time around at, thus "Red Scare, Part Deux," I swear Keith and his staff were reading our posts from yesterday and thought 'oh, we forgot that point!'

Love his Special Comments, but his assaults on rivals in the media verge on the cringeworthy and all too often cross the line.

A documentary (even mocumentary) side by side comparison of the symbolic "imagery" in movies like The DaVinci Code and National Treasure and "imagery" employed by Beck would have been a far cleverer smackdown.

REALLY bad art historian. He fails to mention that Rockefeller originally wanted a modern mural by Picasso or Mattisse, and they refused. SO he was left with the only other prominent muralist Diego Rivera. When the Mural was finally unveiled, It did not align with what Rockefeller had expected or wanted and he strongly disapproved of the mural, its depiction of Lenin, and the political message. He ordered it covered for a year and then chisled off the wall and DESTROYED.

SO WFT IS BECK talking about?-people walking by this every day? AND NOT NOTICING? WHY? It doesn't exist!

"Although the Rockefeller family had put forward the idea for the theme “new frontiers”, Rivera disapproved with the Western world’s embrace of free enterprise. Choosing instead to follow his own political beliefs, Rivera painted scenes that depicted the modern worker confronted by a symbolic junction of industry, capitalism, socialism and science. The newest of the Diego Rivera murals was provisionally called “Man at the Crossroads Looking with Hope and High Vision to the Choosing of a New and Better Future.” The mural was spectacular and achieved Nelson Rockefeller’s goal of creating a work that was arresting and inspiring. Among some of the influential personalities portrayed on the canvas were Jean Harlow, Charlie Chaplin, Edsel Ford and the famous Russian communist leader Vladimir Lenin.

Although many American citizens protested to what they perceived to be artistic censorship, the painting would never see the light of day in the States and it was eventually chiseled off the wall at Rockefeller’s request."

"At the time", it was Fortune magazine that praised Mussolini and fascism.

"At the time", what Beck would call the "loony left" organized the Abraham Lincoln Brigades to fight (Mussolini-backed) fascists in the Spanish Civil War. (Certainly a point the "militia" guys have forgotten, especially the roley-poley ones playing dress-up on YouTube.)
