O'Donnell interviews Weiner and asks about what happened to Medicare for all, he also discusses the House's Health Care Bill with Wendell Potter whi says:

"I sympathize with the Congressman (Kucinich). He has been a champion of consumers, of Americans, and not for the insurance industry. What I think has happened, I think, to a large extent, is the administration and leaders in Congress began with a bill that was largely a compromise already, rather than starting with Medicare for all... So we wound up with a bill that is not as good as a lot of progressives thought it should be. So, it's a pretty good bill, but is as good as we could do? No, it's not."

(Thanks to Hissyspit for the Potter transcript)

3. Backman lies. Lieberman's constituents overwhelmingly support a robust public option according to
recent polls. So he is just doing this as a puppet for the Priv ins Aetna.

Bayh's wife sits on priv ins boards where she has made millions and they have donated heavily to his campaigns

Blue dogs in house are voting for a version that is more costly to the public and the gov and get much less in benefits for huge campaign donations to their PACs so they are outright hypocrites and should be voted out of office in 2010 because they demonstrate dems really don't have a majority anyway since they side (like senate corporate dems like Lieberman and Nelson) with republicans anyway.

We are getting a reform bill that is a give away to private ins and big pharma
no matter that it goes against what the public majority wants. Our elected officials are telling us "you can't have it...we don't work for you...we work for priv ins and big pharma.

The dem party is split and almost half don't support the democratic platform...so why call them dems. Progressive dems and conservadems or the corporate dems that are just like republicans getting elected by claiming to be dems.

We're still in a far better palce than we were when it seemed like the Baucus bill was everything in the universe. We'l get there it will be reasonably good and even better and more widely available by the time it kicks in in 2013. I get Kucinich wants the best but it's almost a miracle we got this much imagine the resistance single payer would of got.Grayson is on the case he won't let it slide if the congress is strenthened that alongside it the bill is strenthened too.

10. Lowered Expectations, Lower, Lower and Lower
A piece of shit is what we will get. A piece of shit ALLOWED by corporations because CORPORATIONS, not you, not your Congressperson, not your President, decide what you get. Maybe someday, when the shit really, really gets so fucking bad, the Democratic Party of Lowered Expectations, Corporate Servitude and Liberal Illusionists will rise up, pull the corporate cocks out of their mouths and follow the will of the people that elected them. I won't hold my breath.

11. Both Weiner and Potter call it a good bill, but say we can still do better.
I agree with that assessment. The fault line and battle now appears on the issue of how robust the public option will be. A fiscal conservative argument is key- it SAVES money, reduces the deficit according to the CBO. The more you have enrolled in the public option the better the rate that can be negotiated, the more we save. There are other things in the bill that reduce spending, but this is the one that is controversial and needs to be fought for. The FACT that it will save money should be in the face of all opposition to this bill, including the moderate republicans left in the Senate. If Kucinich or Weiner can get their amendments in the bill and through reconciliation, and somehow convince, cajole, arm-twist, bribe, or rough up the shills in the senate like Lie-bore-man and the blue-dogs to go along, i'd be thrilled. Realistically, we may end up with a compromise that can be built on and improved/expanded another day. This is the time to put on the pressure to get the best bill we can. If you live in CT or have a blue-dog as a senator GET TO WORK!!! I've written and called my Senators here in ME dozens of times and will make another push. Republican Shills like Heir Blockhead are making the same arguments that were made during the cold war about universal health care that Truman proposed, and they will make them anytime this comes up because they don't work for us. We have the majority, lets use it.
