The Arkansas machine is really turning out for Blanche Lincoln. Despite promises from Election Commissioner Charles Tapp that they wouldn’t shut down polling places in Garland County (site of Bill Halter’s best performance during the first primary), voters are in fact being turned away as seen in the video above.

Says Blue Arkansas, “make no mistake about it, they’re stealing the election for Blanche Lincoln.”

Meanwhile, Blanche was on Candy Crowley’s show this morning saying that the unions were spending $10 million against her. By this afternoon, I heard her on the radio saying that they were spending $12 million against her. Maybe they’re pointing a death star at the state, too. Or maybe people in Arkansas just haven’t been into Blanche for a while now, and she’s just having a hard time accepting it.

Blanche was also complaining that Halter has more small dollar donors from California than he did from Arkansas. You know, California, that godless hedonistic state where they hate good wholesome country folk. Where her sister, the MADONNA “LIKE A PRAYER” VIDEO DIRECTOR, just happens to live. And work. In the movie business. The one Blanche voted to give $246 million in earmarks to. That Mark Pryor voted against.

Blanche apparently believes that her $3 million in PAC money is morally superior to $35 bucks given by a guy in Fresno. And did I somehow miss the press conference where JP Morgan announces they’re relocating world headquarters to Bald Knob?

2. Total crap.
I read articles that people in the voting board agreed to open for early voting on Sunday. I'm curious if this is treachery or stupidity?

3. More election fixing....
...Last fall, ES&S quietly purchased Diebold, giving them 80% of market for electronic voting machings. And it's not just the un-auditable vote-counting; they now also own polling place check-in software (electronic pollbooks), voter registration software and vote-by-mail authentication software.

http://www.benalexandra.com/cool_stuff/diebold_ess.htm

This link has very scary information, all with appropriate citations, regarding what could easily be a mass-manipulation of our elections.

They've already been caught registering voters who thought they were just signing petitions. Getting total registered voter numbers higher gives them more room to fudge numbers.

When you buy a pack of gum, you get a receipt. Why is there no receipt/audit trail on our votes? I can only think of one reason.

12. Thanks
In Nevada it is illegal to pay anyone for registering a specific party. If you pay for registrations you have to pay the same amount for each regardless of party. Also thanks for responding and clearing that up I am amazed at how much I don't know.

16. Think this all really started in mid-late-1960's when the large computers used by MSM ...
and the individual voting computers came in at that time ---

coincidentally, that was about the time America was passing The Voting Rights Act.

Remember Cheney and his boast that the right wing creates the reality and we live it.

The large computers used by MSM brought them new powers to PREDICT and CALL elections.

Prior to their arrival, MSM could only report actual vote tallies.

As time progressed, they not only PREDICTED and CALLED winners of elections but the

Electoral College vote and presidential election.

We simply saw them reverse those new powers in the 2000 election.

The thefts have been so blatant, that we might wonder why the Democratic Party hasn't

been howling its head off?

11. E-mail I got from MoveOn regarding the problems in Arkansas voting:
A new Research 2000 poll shows Bill Halter leading Blanche Lincoln 49% to 45%.

But now, a major local election official is making it harder for Bill Halter's supporters to vote.

Garland County is the most populous county Bill Halter won 3 weeks ago, and could be key to his run-off victory this Tuesday. But election commissioner Charles Tapp reduced the number of polling places from 42 to 2.

Also, after personally promising Bill Halter there would be early voting this weekend, Tapp reversed course. Hundreds of voters showed up to vote yesterday but were denied.

Can you help fight back? We're working with Halter's campaign to call thousands of Garland County voters to tell them when/where they can vote -- and we're pumping up turnout in other parts of the state to make up for any lost votes.

Sign up to call Halter supporters to ensure they vote. Click here. Or if you don't like making calls, donate $3 toward Halter's "get out the vote" effort in the final hours.

Progressive blog Blue Arkansas writes:

Make no mistake, this is by design.

Remember how rural voters broke so heavily for Halter in the primary? Well now those same rural voters have to travel miles across a mountain range to get to town on a weekday to cast their vote, and Tapp ran away when he was asked about what this would do to disenfranchise minorities. How painfully obvious can this get?

One voter told a local TV station, "I don't know if I'm gonna vote or not now... I'm going have to get time off work, and I don't know I can leave Monday or Tuesday."

WE'VE COME TOO FAR TO LET ONE LOCAL ELECTION OFFICIAL MESS THINGS UP. We need to redouble our efforts to "get out the vote" for Halter.

Sign up to call Halter supporters to ensure they vote. Click here. Or if you don't like making calls, donate $3 toward Halter's "get out the vote" effort in the final hours.

Together, we can still make history this Tuesday. Thanks for being a bold progressive.

20. Remember Ohio in 2004?
They're trying to suppress the vote, using dirty tricks to prevent people from voting. That's wrong. :(

21. But it is going blue, right? Yes, can see Ohio would be similar . . . .
and frightening comparison!

Fortunately, Rep. John Conyers got a bit of that shameless situation on the record --

but overall never prosecuted.

Mainly, IMO, because Democratic Party doesn't seem to take it very seriously!!

22. You'd think that we'd have learned after 2000 and 2004
Most certainly after 2000. How often does voter fraud need to happen before we're prepared? It has cost us too dearly. ;(

24. Agree completely ... but ...
think this has really been going on to some degree since the large computers used by

MSM and the individual voting machines began to come in during the mid-late-1960's!!

Just about the time, btw, that America was passing The Voting Rights Act.

I'd question our elections back to Nixon/Humphrey, actually -- think there was a 100,000

vote difference there?

Further, we pay a lot of attention to the computers used by voters -- but think about

the new powers that MSM gained with the large computers. Prior to those coming in, MSM

was only able to opine re likely voting -- they could get some people together to discuss

what might or might not happen. But they could only report ACTUAL vote tallies.

Computers gave them new powers to PREDICT and CALL elections.

And we watched them REVERSE that new power in 2000 when they recalled Florida from Gore!

:)
