I don't agree with everything he says in this video, but he makes some good points and is trying to do something about the problem.

The bill is HR6416. He basically wants to make TSA agents completely liable for what happens at the airport. It would likely kill the current practices because the TSA wouldn't be able to protect their people. The downside is that it might agents liable even when they are justified to search.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ‘American Traveller Dignity Act of 2010’.

SEC. 2. NO IMMUNITY FOR CERTAIN AIRPORT SCREENING METHODS.
No law of the United States shall be construed to confer any immunity for a Federal employee or agency or any individual or entity that receives Federal funds, who subjects an individual to any physical contact (including contact with any clothing the individual is wearing), x-rays, or millimeter waves, or aids in the creation of or views a representation of any part of a individual’s body covered by clothing as a condition for such individual to be in an airport or to fly in an aircraft. The preceding sentence shall apply even if the individual or the individual’s parent, guardian, or any other individual gives consent.

2. Way to put 9/11 in perspective Ron
I've been saying for some time that while it was spectacular, the body count for 9/11 was equivalent to the number of Americans who die every 6 weeks of handgun violence- yet the Republicans (or maybe I should say the neocons and the Foxbots) still go on like it was the Holocaust Act II.

3. I love his suggestion that everyone in congress and the white house
Edited on Sat Nov-20-10 11:52 PM by Voice for Peace
should be required to have the same security shakedowns as everyone else. That's the way to go.

4. WTF? The Head of the TSA is selling the equipment he recommended to put into place?
How is that not a blatant conflict of interest? How is it allowed? I guess that it is just another scumbag invading our lives for personal profit.
I just found an article about it.

7. That is real passion............
While I don't agree with his assertion that private interests should protect private property, I love this guy's passion and agree with him this needs to stop.

U.S. airspace is not private any more than a public highway is private. On the highways we use police and highway patrol to enforce speed limits and other traffic laws. By his logic we should have private companies patrolling the highways and byways of this nation.

I for one would like airport screening and security to remain in federal control. It is not unreasonable to believe that a well-run, responsive TSA should not be responsible for airport screening. If properly executed it should provide for consistency, reliability and predictability.

He is referring to Chertoff who was responsible for the TSA during the second Bush term selling the porno scanners. It is not the current TSA chief who, along with his accomplice in porn, Janet Neapolitan ice cream, ordered the installation and use of the porno machines.

But I like his passion for the subject. More and more stories are coming out and these scanners are not making us any safer. The bad guys will just move to the next opportunity. You can't screen for the instruments of destruction, you have to screen for the person carrying/doing the destruction. Someone can carry explosives inside their rectum without detection, slip it out in the lou and voila.

If they think people object to external body scans wait until they propose full through body scans. This is ridiculous. I canceled my reservation to visit my family at Christmas because I will not have someone "seeing my junk" on their porno scanner and they won't be feeling up my private parts. When I called the airline the agent asked me why and I told them. They thanked me because that airline is actually tracking the number of cancellations due to government-run pornography and molestation.

8. This shit happens every fucking day, all the time in the USA today..........
......if you pay attention it shouldn't be a surprise. Now, what to do about it is a completely other impossible thing in today's America. Lobbyists going into politics and politicians becoming lobbyists. America, what a fucking great (for a "few") country. If it were me in charge (ha, ha) this motherfucker (and all the others like him) would be in jail figuring out ways to protect their "virginity" AND lives.

6. No, "this guy" is a true believer. He at least stands up for what he.........
........believes to be right. That's more than a lot of so called "liberals" do nowadays. While I don't agree with him on a lot, there are some things about his "libertarian" stance I do agree.

9. He's right about one thing for sure
When speaker-elect Bonehead gets groped like the rest of us instead of being escorted around the security check,
and Michelle, Sasha and Melia get strip-searched before boarding Air Force One, new procedures will be put in place
before the evening news.

13. I really don't care for the guy or his son, but he's got a good argument and a good bill.
The PRIMARY reason that it is a good bill is that it is SHORT AND SIMPLE. I'm writing Todd Platts and asking him to support it.

15. I haven't seen one yet;
But Sarah Palin is my candidate and from reading posts here, most of the DU'ers candidate of choice as the next Republican in 2012. She has the most dirt that can be used against her (well, maybe Michelle Bachmann is runs a close second). But if Palin were the candidate and Obama crashed and burned in the final month before the elections, Palin would become president. I am already making plans to emigrate in just such a scenario.

I am not a quitter. But I realize that in a level playing ground the best thing I could do for our country would be to stay and fight for America. However, if Palin, or any Dominionist, were to gain that much power, I feel the nearing and foreseeable end to this country: At least for the next few generations. A Palin presidency would see a De facto Theocracy leading to the near complete entrenchment of power for big business via the powerful Fundamentalist Christian organizations and the further cowered media.

Laughably, I see the newest 'End of the world' predictions for 2012 coming true if the above comes to pass. Again, at least for America.
