33. but nothing compared to SARAH PALIN'S high school speech --->
"wait a minute... i have it right here on the palm of my tongue, yes... hi, i'm sarah palin, and i'm not just another pretty face. i have a cute butt as well as a couple of knock out tittys. i look really hot in a bathing suit, and though i'm a reborn virgin, i think we shouldn't have sex until we are married or at least on a second date. enough about me, let's talk about all of you---- so, what do you think about me. winky winky. i have lots of plans for my future, beauty contests, getting married to some big lug, humping his business partner, you know, same old same old."

57. Oh, you'd be surprised. Lots of old farts like me who were reading
those comics when they first appeared. At 65, I'm a little old to have been much of a hippie, but I was out of circulation for four years in the USAF, so when I got out and went back to college, I fell right into that crowd. Several people on DU have commented on the avatar.

11. And here is Sarah Palin's in comparison:
"She's so pathetic. Let me tell you something about Janis Ian. We were best friends in middle school. I know, right? It's so embarrassing. I don't even... Whatever. So then in eighth grade, I started going out with my first boyfriend Kyle who was totally gorgeous but then he moved to Indiana, and Janis was like, weirdly jealous of him. Like, if I would blow her off to hang out with Kyle, she'd be like, "Why didn't you call me back?" And I'd be like, "Why are you so obsessed with me?" So then, for my birthday party, which was an all-girls pool party, I was like, "Janis, I can't invite you, because I think you're lesbian." I mean I couldn't have a lesbian at my party. There were gonna be girls there in their *bathing suits*. I mean, right? She was a LESBIAN. So then her mom called my mom and started yelling at her, it was so retarded. And then she dropped out of school because no one would talk to her, and she came back in the fall for high school, all of her hair was cut off and she was totally weird, and now I guess she's on crack."

Any resemblance to the character Regina's dialogue in Mean Girls is purely UN-coincidental

58. It's a Mean Girls quote, not a Palin quote
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377092/quotes

sorry I thought I implied that strongly enough in the last line.

I'm sure Sarah said many things in high school that could've been used in that movie though.

You could tell that she had no problem with public speaking even then. She doesn't fall into the
ummm's & uhh's when she speaks like so many people do when stalling for time and letting their brains
catch up with their mouths. I could listen to her all day long.:hippie:

Back in '90 I was a center-right ( albeit Wall St hating ) ditto-head GOP registered voter who would have dismissed her HS speech as so much "librul" bay area BS ( though I agree/agreed with her anti religious fundamentalist sentiments ) and figured she was easy meat. Now I hate the GOP and love her. Go figure. I hope I'm just but a microscosm.

Banning books (and plays), can't say condom and their response to complaints...pull the reins in even tighter. Had a guy give a speech like that 1 1/2 years ago. It will be interesting to see where he is in 20 years.
