3. Are you old enough to remember Nixon?...I am.
and honestly, crookery aside, He was no more "conservative" than BHO.

That's how much the democratic party has changed....There hasn't been anything like "real" democrat since Jimmy Carter.

17. Nixon's domestic policies would be called leftist today.
Obama has no say what so ever in policy. The clintons are controlling everything. If this sounds wild eyed...just think about it.

The clintons were not exactly nice to Obama during the primaries...or after for that matter. He was not asked to Chelsea's wedding ? Come on. ...That is just trashy...which is exactly what DC insiders thought of the clintons when they were in office.

So all of his major appts. and administration are clinton retreads. This was not his choice. I think they were working against him while holding their appointments as well. Doesn't seem like there are so many nasty comments about progressives from a high placed WH source since Rahm left. And Summers. LOL

18. They probably would and that's frightening...
Not sure if I agree on the idea of Clinton's controlling everything....No one's very nice to anybody during the primaries...As for Chelsea's wedding, I believe he said that he was invited but turned it down because it would have been more "about him"...presidential buzz and all..then Chelsea.

I may be wrong, but I think Obama is as "in charge" as any other president has been.

Excellent commentary.

24. Thom Hartman is a true progressive and one of the few voices of truth in media

He made a very clear case.

If you don't agree, then dispute the facts of the case. Don't just accuse the person of being 'low'.

Obama is low for governing in such a manner. Thom isn't low for pointing it out.

11. nixon would be considered a liberal, or even a socialist, by today's warped standards.
can you imagine ANYONE in congress proposing wage and price controls?
a negative income tax?
quota-based affirmative action?

sure, a very few might dream of such things, but they wouldn't dare actually propose such things lest they be drummed out of washington.

GOP buzzword, Thom... I'm not a fan of the watered-down crap Obama passed, but don't buy into their language.

19. No, Obama is NOT Richard Nixon redux...
Richard Nixon faced a liberal Supreme Court and an overwhelming Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate during every year of his Presidency. Barack Obama has faced a conservative Supreme Court and a few recalcitrant "Blue Dog" Democratic Senators thus far during his Presidency. He needed to
fire up his "inner LBJ" during the time he had overwhelming majorities in both Houses of Congress, but failed to do so. His failure of Democratic leadership, along with the Senate Republican's utilization of the filibuster as their default position on any and every piece of legislation, leaves us in
political gridlock for the next two years, and portends the failure of his Presidency. You cannot be "bipartisan" or "compromise" with people whose only
agenda is to "kill" you, literally or figuratively (politically)...
