on why we are in Afghanistan". Too bad they didn't use his last words...."You've got to stop this war in Afghanistan".
Oh well what can we expect from GE who make so much money off the weapons being used in the war.

My brother spent 2 years in a 'coon skin' hat. We even have an Easter Sunday picture, dressed up for church, w/ the hat on.

23. So many! Some of them I didn't even realize had gone.
I miss Robert Byrd's voice. Of course at the end his voice was pretty quiet, but he really did a great show. RIP Robert. They there is Tony Curtis, I ate lunch next to him in the Lower East Side in NYC at Katz Deli. He was such a nice guy, kind to the waiter & better looking in person (but didn't act at all like a star or he even knew he was handsome).

I will very much miss Daniel Schorr. I trusted his words more than any other human being that every uttered a word in public.

29. I am so sorry...
She's quite pretty, and looks incredibly young here. I lost my Dad, and though it was several years ago, it was between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I've been thinking about him quite a lot. And I know, life is never quite the same. I am so sorry for your loss.

28. I miss Néstor Kirchner (former president of Argentina)
(At first I thought it was meant to be a tribute to Americans, but then I saw Miep Gies, so I thought I should really add president Kirchner.)

That's the only public person that has ever died whose death has really shocked me. I was very upset when I heard he had passed away. He was going to run for president again in 2011, after the first term of his wife, Christina Fernandez, had ended. He could have done so many wonderful things for the Argentinian people, like he did before, when he was president. Néstor Kirchner was a hero.

30. These are not 'well known faces' but they deserve our attention.
Exclusive footage from the US airstrikes in Afghanistan provides a sobering look at the dire situation on the ground. The footage will be incorporated in Brave New Foundation's documentary, "Rethink Afghanistan."

31. New Year, Same Afghan problems
The United States has been at war for over 9 years in Afghanistan but has yet to see major gains despite claims from the Obama Administration that there has been significant progress. Voices for Creative Nonviolence Co-coordinator Kathy Kelly says this is a land that belongs to the people of Afghanistan. A prior question should be what do Afghan people want for their country? Not, what kind of designs does the United States have on their resources around their geo-political placement.

32. Media ignores infinite Afghan war
Instead of investigating further, the mainstream media appears to be more concerned with entertainment news, such as the Kardashian's new product, than a war that has claimed the lives of thousands of Americans and innocent Afghan civilians. Founder of Brave New Films Robert Greenwald says I think it's a combination of factors; first of all, it's only been in the last 5 or so years that the networks have forced news to become an income source the same way they look at sports or entertainment.
