...for heroine addicts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syztZcpj69UFrankly, I'm sick and tired of the propagandist bullshit that surrounds these drugs, and the utter lack of legitimate study due to them being deemed Schedule I - not only when it comes to their potential for healing people physically, but for the "spiritual" experiences they offer as well (which goes hand in hand with physical well-being). This goes for all hallucinogens, or psychedelics, or entheogens, or whatever the hell you want to call them. Particularly, those found in the aforementioned Ibogaine plant, psilocybin mushrooms, mescaline containing cacti (peyote), cannabis, and ayahuasca (DMT). Especially when they're taken in their natural forms. Terrence McKenna has a fascinating book on the subject, and how humanity's own evolution more than likely was intricately linked with their relationship with these "drugs." It's called "Food of the Gods," and I highly recommend the read. I'll end my rant with one of my favorite quotes from that book:
"Let us declare nature to be legitimate. The notion of illegal plants is obnoxious and ridiculous in the first place."
(for those wondering, I've never "experimented" with any of these substances, aside from the occasional puff of cannabis - it would just be nice to have the option to "legally" do so)
(also, as Leary emphasized, taking these "drugs" requires proper education, surrounding, and temperament - or, as he called it, "Set and setting")
