1. How can it baffle the left

if the specific cuts to the budget have nit yet been released to the public...as a matter of fact, last night CNN disclosed some of the cuts and it NO where near what the repubs wanted and in some cases programs repubs wanted cut were not cut at all. Just because Obama came to an agreement with Bodhner does not mean Obama caved...look at the facts first....I wish facts meant something at DU...now it takes a back seat to hyperspeculation by the PL and the sheep take what they say as fact.

when he DOESN'T cave to the right, I'll give him credit.

if he caved everytime than why are the riders out of the budget, why is there still funding for so many important government programs, etc....CNN showed last night how the repubs caved in time after time to get a deal....if he has caved all the time, wy is there still HCR? DU=hyperspeculation, no facts!

9. The point is Obama made a deal with the Republ;icans!

They want Obama to simply hold ground & refuse any & all compromises, period! And if Obama did this then they would blame Obama for allowing the government to get shut down!

It is CRYSTAL CLEAR there is a majority crowd here on DU that hates Obama & anything he does! They claim to be Liberals but have the same MO as Republicans!

2. With 81% of Americans agreeing that

tax increases on millionaires is a good solution to our deficit (unemployment not deficit should be the real conversation), it seems that President Obama is very "safe" in his decision not to CUT taxes for the wealthy. He has convinced many of us here, that he is a closet republican (even outed), This will be his final "test."
If President Obama (supposedly) "caves in" to the repub. demands, and doesn't say "this is madness, shut down the government, I will not go along with you." Then there is no way else to describe his actions and America will continue(?) to deteriorate without a successful primary challenger from the "left"(er).
