Segment of video from the Tennessee House of Representatives during April, 2011 when House legislation pertaining to the mandatory private health insurance policy coverage of hearing aids for deaf children in Tennessee drew a lot of support from both aisles --- except from TNGA House Rep. John Lundberg and a thin minority of his nFIB (National Federation of Independent Business) backed Republican cronies.
And how much extra expense would this add to employer provided health insurance? Two cents per policy, but the effected insurance carriers stated that this provision for hearing impaired chidlren across Tennessee could be provided under existing premiums and without raising insurance rates
..."Rep. Jon Lundberg, R-Bristol, said he received a letter from the parents of a six-year-old boy in his district who said that all he wanted for Christmas was a new pair of hearing aids. Despite that, Lundberg said, it's a mandate and he's opposed to it. "Where is the line that we draw on what's a good mandate and what's not?"
