The mainstream media has failed to report on the death toll and destruction that occurred in the recent takeover of the Libyan capital of Tripoli. Many say that the rebels would not been able to take over the capital city without the assistance of NATO. According to civilians on the ground, everything was a target - including many international journalists. Why is the US media not reporting on the causalities of this occupation? Pepe Esobar, correspondent for Asia Times, gives us more insight on the recent happenings.

2. Great journalist. And he was so right about Iraq also.
And he is right, Iraq 2. The PNAC can cross another country off their list. This was in no way part of the Arab Spring, although they did use it to advantage to get support in the beginning.

Rec'd to zero as I guess we are not to learn anything that might destroy the 'narrative' of how humanitarian the same gang of Imperialists currently slaughtering people in Afghanistan and Iraq and Yeman and Pakistan (PNAC must be thrilled) have suddenly become.

I'm sure the Imperialists will all go home now. Well, they would if what we are being told was true.

Libya better get ready for years of occupation, military bases, 'for peace-keeping purposes of course' and an agreement to make sure their oil and water is 'shared' equitably among the occupiers.

Just like Iraq. Qadaffi made the mistake of threatening their profits and of giving bigger contracts to Russia and China. The Wikeleaks cables are very interesting on what was really happening in Libya.

But, if people want to pretend that it's all for the good of the people, it won't be the first time America decided to live in a state of denial.

Wish I didn't feel this way.

4. If you mean 'Arab Spring', there really is no comparison.
Already now they are talking about, as predicted, 'boots on the ground' just as 'peacekeepers' of course.

As he said, there were already many foreign 'boots' there, from France and Britain and the US.

No, he is correct, it will be Iraq 2.

And what happened to all those Libyan people who were opposed to this war from one week ago? Like what happened in Iraq, they will blend back into society for a while. And if they do rise up against the 'invaders' they will meet the same fate the Iraqis met. All that violence will only make more money for the Western powers. Poor Africa, it just can't seem to get out from under Colonialism

As he said, 'Libya will now be opened up for Capitalists' and that means, the money will not be going to the Libyan people.

6. Yes, since if it all keeps going the way it is, according to the PNAC
script. We can tick off Libya now. Next up, Iran? Syria?
