The upturned, outstreched hands are a little too close to the Nazi salute for me though...

6. My wife and I had a Geography Professor(and elderly man) who

explained that theat little outstreched hand movement was done all through his school years and stopped right around WW II because it did look too much like the Nazi salute. He also did say Under god wasn't added until the 1950s...

I think my wife has seen that movie before and it may have been filmed in the 1940s but the story line is suppost to take place late 30s she thinks...
