What people are really thinking
on the ground. My son who is a teacher was with 5 of his teacher friends last night watching football, and a conversation on the election started. All of these teachers are Democrats but ALL of them said that if Hillary is the nom and McCain is the Repub nom, they will vote for Mccain. So then they said if Obama is up against McCain they will vote for Obama. They do not trust Hillary and they all think even though McCain is about keeping the war going, to them he is more moderate and would not be even close to as bad as Bush. The only way they would vote for Hillary is if Huckabee gets the Repub nom, then it will be ABH. By the way this discussion took place in Virginia.

1. Interesting
I am thinking back to all the speculations after Iowa (seems like moths ago!), all the talk of voters being in search of authenticity as opposed to business as usual. Unpleasant as it is to admit, and in spite of all the very yucky things he has done and said in recent years, McCain is most likely more authentic and has (again, in spite of..) more integrity than the Clintons. Incidentally, I would NOT vote for him.

2. Maybe you should post a version of this conversation out in GDP?
Yeah, I know your post will get stomped on by the Hill-bots. But they jump on anything that's pro-Obama or anti-Hillary.

5. Yeah McCain will beat her for sure
Those who don't out and out vote for him will stay home. Frankly I don't think she'd have a successful Presidency anyway and it would take much longer to get the country ready to hear Democrats again.

6. That is exactly where I am on this
I will vote for either Obama or Edwards over all Republicians

I won't vote for Hillary no matter what, I won't vote for any Republician (other than possibly McCain) no matter what

I may vote against Hillary if McCain is the other choice, or if a 3rd party candidate like Bloomberg emerges.

I may stay home if all my choices are unacceptable to me.
