Latest campaign email from Terry McAwful
In early 2005 when HRC cosponsored an election reform bill, I signed on to her mailing list by signing a petition in support of the bill. I never got off the list because I thought it was important to see what she was up to. Mostly, I delete the emails, but the few I've read during this primary season have been appallingly manipulative, deceitful and condescending. This latest is a must-see for the Obama forum:

Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2008 12:36:09 -0500 (EST)
From: "Terry McAuliffe, Hillary Clinton for President"
To: Luftmensch
Subject: Monster

Dear Luftmensch,

Just one day after Senator Obama promised to begin attacking Hillary, a senior Obama advisor has called her
a "monster."

That's right -- a "monster."

At the same time, Senator Obama's aides have begun rehashing the old negative attacks of the 90's against
Hillary.

This is not the politics of hope -- it's the usual attack style politics that we have seen time and time
again.

And it must stop.

Only you can make that happen. A small contribution now -- even as little as $5 -- will show the Obama
campaign that there is a price to this kind of attack politics.

Make a contribution to stop the Obama attacks.

You and I know Hillary is a fighter -- she has been fighting for what she believes in for 35 years, and as
president, she's going to fight for us. So let's make sure she knows we have her back.

Thank you,

Terry McAuliffe
Chairman, Hillary Clinton for President

P.S. Calling Hillary a "monster" isn't the only attack we're seeing from the Obama campaign. We've seen
deceptive radio attack ads and deceptive mailings in Texas and Ohio -- and now in Wyoming and Mississippi.
Let's stop these attacks now -- make a contribution today.

Feel free to share this with everyone you know, especially anyone who might need to have the blinders taken off so they can see what the Clinton campaign is REALLY like...

1. I have much harsher words than monster to describe Hillary Clinton.

3. I wonder why she would say it in front of a bunch of reporters
Were they egging her on? Was she totally stressed, overtired, angry? Did she think she was in safe territory---that they wouldn't report it? Never get between a reporter and his/her scoop! There just seems to be something still missing to this story. :tinfoilhat:

4. I think she just lost it for a moment
and her true feelings (shared by many) just became words. Stress & frustration. It's not only what she said about HRC but also the way she described what happened in OH. I understand that she is an extremely smart woman, but an academic with no political experience, so she is not versed in the special kind of talk that most politicians are able to use almost automatically to mask or at least filter their true feelings. In any case, a sad story, coming at a bad moment.

Also, I just kind of heard (TV in the background) HRC's reaction to Power's resignation. One sentence that it was the right thing to do, followed by comments that I did not quite catch insinuating I think a pattern from the O campaign of saying one thing and doing something else. Sounded quite poisonous (did Power specify what kind of monster she is?) and I did not get the feeling it was about the NAFTA thing, but again, I did not quite catch it. If anybody knows more about what I am talking about, and especially what the hell she (HRC) was talking about, please enlighten.

5. Let's be fair
Monster is good enough, I do not think she is worse than that.

God, do I ever need to let some steam out....

6. I wonder how much $$$ they'll collect as a response to
this nonsensical letter.

I particularly like the part about "rehashing the old negative ads of the 90's".

Payback is a bitch.
