The GOP debate discussed a pre-emptive nuclear strike on Iran
I think my jaw dropped to the floor this evening when the majority of GOP candidates spoke so casually about possibly using tactical nukes against Iran. I can't find a transcript of the debate but I remember several of the candidates saying they wouldn't rule out that possibility. Are they nuckin' futs??? Did you ever think you'd see the day when American presidential candidates would talk about nuking a country because they may one day nuke a country themselves? Isn't that the definition of insanity?

(Running from thread screaming.)

1. Rudy said sure
And Ron Paul was as shocked as you were. He said so about five minutes ago in the rerun of the debate.

2. These folks are nihilistic fools.
I don't understand these folks. What the hell motivates someone who is willing to wipe out a whole planet? For what?

The Iranians are a cultured people, a people ethnically diverse. They will stop being enemies of the US the day the US stops making them into an enemy.

Jesus H. on toast points, people.

3. Sounds like the first debate.

You know, the one where each one was tougher than the last on terrorists, thought they should be tortured, etc.

They each (other than Ron Paul of course) will talk about how they will hunt down bin Laden, the guy that Bush "doesn't think much about." When they find him, he will get Texas justice, and we'll string him up.

They advocate nuclear weapon usage because it shows who has the biggest balls. The bigger gun wins the fight, and it doesn't get bigger than nukes.

That should scare the rest of the world into doing what we say.

It's depressing. I know way too many people that have no problem with taking whatever somebody else has because we're powerful enough to do it. When I ask what happens when China is #1 are we to sit and smile as they fence off our National Parks for their own use? "Never happen" says the people who have no problem with us killing thousands just to secure some oil.

4. All good sound bite
come the 2008 elections. I doubt the average American is all fired up for war on Iran.

5. It can NOT be allowed.
The use of modern day nuclear weapons...All I can do it sit here and shake my head. Ten years ago, I wouldn't have believed it. Its surreal.

Someone needs to sit rudy and co. down for a few hours in front of some historical hiroshima footage that shows the aftermath. Then explain to him the difference between that little bomb that was dropped on hiroshima, and the modern day nukes that would be used today.

Fucking idiots. Complete fucking idiots.
