4. Congress doesn't have the votes.
Unless you can think of 17 Republican senators who are willing to impeach Bush, as well as guaranteeing that every Democrat stays on board for such an action.

6. A trial would expose more of lies in a high profile setting
which in turn might cause the public to demand their congressperson, republican or democrat vote to impeach.

If congress doesn't try to impeach this administration, they're setting a precedent for future admins, dem or republican. If the democrats were smart, they would use the bogey man of an out of control democrat to frame the debate. Make it about the ol' "Rule of Law" rather than republican vs democrat.

8. Petition Supporting Impeachment of Bush and Cheney
One good place to collect names is right in front of your Representative's office, if there is passing foot traffic. You should do so prominently with a visible sign so your Representative (and staff) can't miss it. Other good locations are busy malls, libraries, and post offices. Be creative! You can also go door-to-door in your neighborhood and bring your petition to work or church.

If someone does not have an email address, ask for their postal address instead.

If you'd prefer to collect petitions with a group, join (or help us organize) a local Impeachment Committee: http://www.democrats.com/cdic

9. How Low Can He Go?
President Bush registers the lowest approval rating of his presidency—making him the least popular president since Nixon—in the new NEWSWEEK Poll.

June 21, 2007 - In 19 months, George W. Bush will leave the White House for the last time. The latest NEWSWEEK Poll suggests that he faces a steep climb if he hopes to coax the country back to his side before he goes. In the new poll, conducted Monday and Tuesday nights, President Bush’s approval rating has reached a record low.

Only 26 percent of Americans, just over one in four, approve of the job the 43rd president is doing; while, a record 65 percent disapprove, including nearly a third of Republicans.
