2. Did you come in half way through the conversation?
It was in response to Tavis's shutting down of Chris Dodd...I am no fan of HRC, but let's at least save our outrage for an ACTUAL dumb moment then imaginery one..

5. are you paying attention?
Clinton didn't first bring up Hilton - Smiley did. She was making a joke about HIS comment.

Are you as outraged as Obama's joking about HIV/AIDS?

..the need for African Americans getting over the homophobic stigma of HIV..and then when Biden mentioned Obama's AIDS test he made a BIG show that he had it done with his WIFE...

8. Truebrit, you're obviously one of the few folks who missed the point...
His joke had nothing to do with homosexuality. It was about cheating on Michelle. Everyone in the room got it, and in fact Tavis made a joke about Michelle being able to relax after Barack's clarification.

9. I didn't read it that way..after all they were talking about HIV and he'd just finished..
...talking about needing to get over the "stigma" and homophobia...looking back it could vey well be a "i'm not cheating on my wife thing"..but I am not thoroughly convinced that is all there is..his visual response when Biden first said it was interesting..

10. whether he was defending against
claims of homosexuality or adultery, he was buying INTO the stigma about getting tested for HIV.

13. No, he was buying into the stigma against adultery.
Which isn't a bad thing, IMO.

12. I think you misread him.
My impression was that he was trying to say that people think that HIV is a gay disease -- but heterosexuals (like he and Michelle) also should be aware of the risks and get tested.
