Talibangelical review of Sicko
Content: Strong humanist worldview favoring socialized medicine with very strong socialist, anti-capitalist, pro-Communist worldview (the movie stresses its socialism more than the anti-religious aspect of its humanism) that gives very strong deceptive support to Fidel Castro’s Communist fascist dictatorship, plus narrator/filmmaker blames America for a problem regarding overseas medical treatment for Canadians that seems to be really the fault of a bad policy in Canada’s socialist healthcare system, liberal but shallow compassion expressed for the plight of people caught in tragic health circumstances and poverty; three obscenities and two light profanities, plus man wears a T-shirt saying Hell’s Kitchen; no action violence but man sews a partly healed gash in his knee and diagram shows where man accidentally sliced off the tips of two of his fingers; no sex; upper and rear male nudity during two medical visits; no alcohol; no smoking; and, a grandstanding publicity stunt that adds little enlightenment once you think about it (assuming, of course, that you have a brain), narrator/filmmaker and a couple other people claim that the American capitalist system wants to keep people in debt so that they get discouraged and don’t vote for socialist change, and narrator/filmmaker defends government-run schools and government-run daycare.

Summary: Left-wing activist Michael Moore’s new documentary is SICKO, an emotional, feebleminded comparison of the healthcare that Americans receive with the healthcare provided by national healthcare systems in Canada, France, England, and Communist Cuba. SICKO mostly consists of anecdotal evidence and a few case histories with few reliable facts, and includes a sick defense of the evil totalitarian regime of Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro, a murderer.

Review: Left-wing activist Michael Moore’s new feebleminded documentary, SICKO, relies on few objective facts. It is mostly an emotional defense, filled with anecdotal stories and flimsy arguments, of a single payer, national healthcare system run by the government. What makes the movie abhorrent is not necessarily its deceptive defense of socialized medicine programs in Canada, England and France, but its inane defense of Fidel Castro’s evil Communist dictatorship. Though reasonably well-made and entertaining, SICKO falls far short of greatness because of Mr. Moore’s infantile need to mock the United States, capitalism, conservatives, Republicans, and Democrats who compromise with Republicans, conservatives and capitalists while strongly promoting state socialism and even Communism. Mr. Moore’s movies are like the movies made by Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and Communist China to prop up those despotic regimes and promote their evil fascist policies.

The review continues at http://www.movieguide.org/index.php?s=reviews&id=7489

The site, MovieGuilde.org, describes itself as "a ministry dedicated to redeeming the values of the mass media according to biblical principles, by influencing entertainment industry executives and helping families make wise media choices."

Sicko got the site's lowest "acceptability" rating, Abhorrent.

6. "its inane defense of Fidel Castro’s evil Communist dictatorship"??????
I just saw it two hours ago and this is a fucking lie. He NEVER defends Castro or his dictatorship. He merely points out that medical care in Cuba is more accessible than here in the US.

Oh and the male nudity is in a scene showing how doctors make house calls in France. Yes, when you get sick, you can call a doctor to come to your house. Just like you can call a plumber when your drains clog. Novel concept to a corporate loving fascist, I know.

39. He hardly even mentions Castro
and at one point even calls him "the dictator that overthrew our dictator".

The scene's purpose is to show that even a poor nation can mobilize enough resources to provide a basic standard of medical care for all citizens. And he was absolutely correct.

Fuck the religious tight. Nasty, greedy fucks who don't have a clue about the words of Jesus or compassion.

17. Actually, they are not contradictory
Communism in an economic model, at one of a scale that has laissez-faire capitalism on the other end.

Fascism is a socio-political model, at one end of a scale that has libertarian individualism on the other end.

Communism and fascism have co-existed more often than not.

20. Give an example
I agree that fascism is a political system. It can be considered as a form of capitalist oligarchy. Rule by the financial elite. It isn't clear to me how this can be compatible with communist economic policy.

Wasn't it Goebels (sp?) who said "In it's earliest stages, fascism might be called corporatism." or something similar?

33. Ok...
The word "fascism" comes from Latin, fasces. It was a rod made of tightly bundled birch twigs and represented the power of the People of Rome during the Republic and Empire. The basic concept it represents is that a single twig is easy to break, but bound as a group the twigs became very strong. The fasces has appeared on several US coins for this reason, most notably on the reverse of the "Mercury" dime, and echoes still exist in the reeded torch on the reverse of the Rooseveldt dime.

It was this idea of "power through solidarity" which created the fasci (singular, fascio in Italy starting in the late 1800. The creation of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861 unified the entire Italian penninsula for the first time in nearly 1400 years, bringing with it a new sense of nationalism. Italy had adopted a parliamentary system, which made the strength of political parties key to gaining a place in government. Fascio was a name adopted by coalitions of smaller, usually more extreme groups to emphasize their unity of voice.

It was within these fasci that Benito Mussolini started his rise to power. The concept of "separate we are weak; united we are strong" became the principle worldview of his Fascist Party. A strong, healthy state was the goal, and any individual who could not or would not contribute towards that goal had no value. The state alone, as the sole source of strength, had the right to dictate behavior in any area of personal and public life in an effort to improve the state, and "good citizen" was defined as someone who welcomed this "guidance."

This is what fascism has come to mean, that the needs and wants of the state always outweigh the needs and wants of the individual. If you were to put fascism at one end of a scale, the other end would be libertarian individualism: the needs and wants of the individual are more important than and will always outweigh the needs and wants of the state.

Communism, no matter how differently it might start, ends up with much the same doctrine as fascism. First off, communist theory holds that all persons are equal. However, humans are social animals and, like all other primates, we eventually organize into social hierarchies. Communist societies have tended to organize into hierarchies based on how much one does for the good of the collective; those doing more have more prestige, more respect and more and better perqs than those doing less. This parallels the fascist doctrine where the value of a person is based on his value to the state.

Second, all societies beyond a very small size must be able to enforce its rules on those who are less than willing to participate; communist societies are no different. Communism is centered on the ideas of collective need and common good, and so those are the ideals which shape a communist society's rules. One ends up with a central authority dictating behavior in any area of a person's life for the common good, according to the needs of the collective. When the society is an association or commune, the collective which dictates behavior is the association or commune. When the society is a nation-state, the collective dictating behavior is the state.

So in summary: Fascism is a worldview in which the needs and wants of the state take priority over the needs and wants of the individual. Fascist societies can be capitalist, as was Germany and Italy during World War II, or fascist societies can be communist, like China and the Soviet Union. That fascist parties in Germany, Italy and Spain opposed communism is not relevant; the fascists in those countries were supported by, if not controlled by, capitalist corporations who opposed the communists' anti-capitalist doctrines and it was they, not the fascists specifically, who opposed communism.

36. Thank You
I really have spent some time studying this, including an in depth conversation recently with a family member who was a government teacher back when they still taught government in school, and many long talks with a man who was a teen in Nazi Germany. I learned a lot about Nazism, and seemingly, equated it with fascism.

That clears up some things. Thanks again.

32. Do you know why the Talibangelicals say these things?
If the US had a Government controlled health care system, then they would not have the chance to take control of them as they have planned in their agenda. They want to not only take over the Health Care system but also Education and Military as well.

Having a National Health Care system would faulter their agenda. All that review demonstrats is the zealots unvaoring love for suffering in this country, when you have a totally Church/State seperation as in those countries with a NHCS you end up with healther and happier people who are not suffering and so they do not seek false hope in silly religions.

The Church/State relationship needs to be severed.

Moore is right and as always religious zealots have it dead wrong.
