When the SiCKO critics crawl out from under their rocks, as we know they will
and they try to debunk Michael Moore's expose. You might want to refer to this web site that details Kaiser's criminal neglect of their patients. I shared this with a poster at HuffPost.com who felt that Michael was exaggerating their level of negligence in patient care and I am still waiting for a response.

Forum Editorial: Don’t look for truth in ‘Sicko’

Published Friday, June 29, 2007
Michael Moore is at it again. The maker of political propaganda films masquerading as documentaries takes on the American health-care system in his latest work, “Sicko.” Early screenings of the film confirm the filmmaker’s biases and unapologetic tendency to play fast and loose with reality. (It opens today in a few select cities, not in Fargo.)

Much of the movie compares U.S. health care to socialist systems in Canada and Europe. To no one’s surprise, in Moore’s leftist world, Canada and Europe are portrayed as veritable medical heavens, while the United States is health-care hell.

Problem is, it’s not true.

Truth, of course, has never been Moore’s strong suit. In his previous films, he’s manipulated picture and dialogue to conform to his political bent. He’s cut and pasted (creative editing, his fans call it) in order to make nasty and false claims about politicians, business people and organizations he doesn’t like. American health care gets the same treatment in “Sicko.”

3. expect visits from paid trolls
Netvocates and other PR firms pay people to hang out in forums and say whatever they are paid to say, pretending to be "concerned citizens"

As stated in this blog (http://weaseldog.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html),

ext time you wonder why an internet commentator is taking a pro-genocide position, it could well be that they are being paid to promote the slaughter of other human beings. Screaming on the internet to have people slaughtered in other countries, is just another day at the office for some folks. Think of it as a way to 'put food on your family'.

4. Drug Companies have a problem because most people
know how bad they are, and the hospitals are sick!

CNN? Keeping them honest? Who is keeping CNN honest?

6. Suprise! CNN just had the insurance company on. I knew it was
coming, just like Kevin Trudeau said in his best selling book; "Natural Cures THEY Don't want you to know about." Trudeau is correct and Michael pointed out how he was correct on Larry King Live, Anderson Cooper had a DRUG doctor on stretching crap! I am mad as Hell and I am not going to take it anymore! Kevin Trudeau's message to the drug companies/insurance companies! CNN is at it once again as I listen. I usually turn the TV off whenever CNN is on! Corporate News Network! FSTV and LINKTV are the channels I watch, Keith Olbermann is the only show on MSM I watch. "We the people" have experienced terrible things with the healthcare system in Amerika. Anderson Cooper does not appear to want to hear the truth!

8. I just emailed the CNN medical reporter who wrote the SICKO review
on their web site. She really got me fuming.

"Dear Ms. Gajilan - I've been following CNN's coverage of "Sicko" and, after just reading your review on CNN.com, I've come to the conclusion the insurance companies and big pharma have threatened to withdraw their advertising from CNN. While you do make a few positive comments about the film, you can't resist throwing in that old talking point about patients having to wait for procedures in countries with universal health care and how care is not quite up to snuff. Here's a real life story for you. About 3 years ago, shortly after having to give up my unaffordable health insurance, I suffered a bout of pancreatitis brought on by a horrendous gall bladder attack. Stubbornly, although suspecting what it was, I took to my bed with a heating pad and treated myself with pain killers hoarded from a previous dental procedure. Finally, after 2 weeks, I scheduled an appointment with a gastroenterologist for a Monday morning. Over the weekend I began to improve and by Monday, the physician agreed - after a few tests - that I had turned the corner. I went home to continue my recovery. A month or 2 later a young Canadian woman was visiting my neighbor. Oddly, she had the exact medical event happen to her. The local ambulance took her to the hospital where she was later transferred to a major medical center an hour north of where we live. The hospital contacted Canadian authorities to authorize payment for her care, which was going to include surgery and an extensive stay in Intensive Care. The Canadian health authorities made the decision it would be more economical and just as safe for the patient to SEND A PRIVATE JET WITH MEDICAL STAFF TO PICK HER UP AND TRANSPORT HER BACK TO A CANADIAN HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. That is what happened and she recovered uneventfully. If she had been an uninsured American, she would have had to rely on a heating pad and good luck not to be among the 25% of patients who die from even a mild incidence of the described illness. I have more stories, but I won't bore you. I'm sure you get the point. Americans are dying needlessly. Insured people assume the uninsured will always get care somehow. We don't. I beg you - and CNN - to defy your corporate sponsors and do what is right. Promote health care - not health insurance - for all. Sincerely, "

9. Anderson Cooper had a long section
on Sicko last night. The insurance lady tried her best but was by no means convincing.

10. "Most of those stories were 8 or 10 years old" was her major
point of contention. That and defending the insurance companies by saying they were just trying to determine whether or not the employer had paid for a certain level of coverage, and so if claims are denied maybe the employer should have paid for more coverage. She was unconvincing, but also just creepy. As if anyone could believe that tripe she was spewing!
