I can think of a laundry list of GOP high crimes and misdemeanors, and it only seems to ruffle a few feathers. But when it comes to SEX, it is the downfall of civilization and the perpetrator must resign.

Are we that stupid or repressed as a nation?

2. Yes, you are that repressed
There's no such thing as a "sex scandal" in Canada.

Not that there aren't sexual shenanigans going on, but rather, our system doesn't give a shit about people's personal lives. Nor do I.

I enjoy reading about them in the alternative (satirical) publications or on blogs. But to the average Canadian, it just doesn't matter.

We don't judge our politicians on whether they're married, gay, divorced or unfaithful, as long as they're not breaking the law. And any attempt to decry such people are run out of town. Sometimes, literally.

Americans would do well from our example.

Indeed, almost any other country DOES possess our mentality.

4. Yes, the US is repressed, crazily so
Especially when one considers the veritable smorgasboard of pronography and other service the Internet offers and which a majority of American males (and possibly a majority of Americans, period) partakes in at least monthly.

Sexaulity may well be the most powerful human characteristic, and repressing it makes people crazy.

Nations, too.

5. USA=Voilence is Erotic
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 08:36 PM by supernova
We've substituted voilence, whether real life war or make belive movie explosions for sex and intimacy.

GIve Jr a play gun, but oh horrors! if he should catch two seconds of Janet Jackson's nipple ring.

Man, if I could afford it, I'd live somewhere where sex wasn't something dirty and hidden.
