Is it important to note that Senator Grassley has known Sara Taylor since she was 6 Years old?
Edited on Wed Jul-11-07 03:37 PM by KoKo01
When the hearings started this a.m. in Senate Judiciary Committee...Senator Grassley made a statement before he ducked out saying he had known Taylor since she was 6.

Seemed to me that Senator Grassley's relationship with Taylor might be important in showing how politics "might" have played a part in the firings and other hearings and even investigations by the Senate Judiciary Committee back when the Repugs had the Chair.

Could Grassley's relationship with Taylor have been a two way street...passing info back and forth? Or, are we to believe that Grassley had no contact at all with Taylor and Rove the whole time he and his Repug Cronies were ripping apart the constitution. Maybe I'm wrong ...but I don't believe there's an honest Repug in that crowd up there on the Hill these days...and knowing a person since they were 6 years old implies alot of authoritiarin power to use the connection.

EDIT: Check out this interesting Post by DUer "Emit" with MORE info on Sara Taylor and connections with Rove:

1. I think it's somewhat important, if only to establish a conflict of interest...
when the inevitable happens and Taylor actually testifies.

3. Hopefully he does not
literally know her in the biblical sense, but given that list of Rethugs pedos, I will not put my head on a block.

4. Oh....I wasn't implying anything sexual....but that he must be very close with her
family to have known her that long. Given that Taylor was a Rove operative she might have picked up his bad habits of destroying people and using information always to the good of his Boss Bush.

6. Well Grassley did vote YES to subpoening Rove and Miers -- I correspond with
him and his last letter expressed a lot of frustration about how secretive the Bush admin is being re these issues.

8. Thanks for that info...I noted that Grassley got out of that hearing fast...saying he had another
committee meeting to go to...BUT...I remember that Sibel Edmonds (FBI Whistleblower) presented her testimony to Senator Grassley and hoped he would further her cause. He didn't seem to.

But, he did recuse himself from this. Still...one wonders how much Grassley was "compromised" by knowing her family and Sara herself that he might have been "tempted" or maybe Sara, herself, was a volunteer of info back and forth? Who knows...but given the lawlessness of the Bush Administration I would find it hard to believe that Grassley wasn't privy to info if he wanted it...that others might not have been.
