Impeachment Isn't A Constitutional Crisis; It's The Cure For A Constitutional Crisis!
So says John Nichols on Moyers' PBS show.

This needs to be a bumper sticker, a banner towed behind an airplane, a billboard, a tattoo on Nancy Pelosi's forehead!

1. Amen. Blame the criminal for the crime...
...not the cop.

3. Could we find a way to make it shorter and simpler for the masses?
I have one I truly love...

IMPEACHMENT IS PATRIOTIC! yet it does not address the Cure!

4. That was an excellent program.
Though Bruce Fein did say that impeachment was more about checks and balances/restraint than removal from office. And he indicated that if Bush and Cheney "agreed" to tone down the Empire, we should accept their apology and move on.

I do feel that congress has a constitutional duty to proceed, and I don't think we just subpoenaed Harriet Meyers because we're not "entertaining" the notion. Nancy's mistake or genius (depending) is not using the "I" word - yet, and I think that's because she's close to getting bipartisan war legislation passed? At least I hope that's why.

10. I posted in a thread the other day...
where someone complained that "This is Democratic Underground, not Cindy Sheehan Underground or Impeachment Underground." I received a couple of snide responses when I said I wished this WERE "Impeachment Underground."

I had no comment on Cindy (bless her), but damn, if Democratic Underground isn't Impeachment Underground, we're about ready to give up on democracy altogether.

And I'm not talking about the Clinton impeachment nonsense that was just a political circus, but I'm talking about Investigation. Impeachment. Indictment. Imprisonment. Serious crimes have been committed. GA Democrat's devastating post last night about his PTSD as a result of his time in Iraq just about sent me over the edge. We've been fighting against this war for too long, and standing by while the Administration commits act after blatant outrageous act (firings, pardons, spitting on the Constitution)...

I wish this country would wake the f*ck up.

12. A couple of things ......
Mixing in anything to do with Ms. Sheehan will cause a thread to have any other point pretty much missed. For me, for example, seeing her name in a thread title causes me not to even click on it.

With respect to impeachment, I see this as a matter of honest people having differing views. I'm an impeachment hawk. But there's no way I look at a person who opposes the idea as somehow less ..... whatever .... democratic, patriotic, American ....... whatever. They came to their view much as I came to mine .... honestly. In fact, it is only when the majority of minds change that impeachment will happen .... or not.
