24. Define "us,"
Have you talked to many right-wingers lately? Right now, instead of taking this moment to consider what they did wrong, they're all hoping that we get attacked in this country so they can turn around and say, "I told you so." They really do believe that the world owes them a lifestyle and that being an American means winning at all cost. They really do believe that it's somebody else's child obligation to make the sacrifice to be a target in a foreign land in order protect their freedom here at home to be as selfish and as greedy as they wannabe.

If they even have to change a lightbulb for an energy efficient one, they consider it a cop-out.

What we need is leadership to bring us together. Fucking Bush has divided us and made that all but impossible.

Edited on Sat Jul-14-07 10:27 AM by RestoreGore
And yes, I have talked to people of all politics who see this and believe in addressing it. Mr. Gore actually trained some, and perhaps you would know that if you really followed what he is doing on this.

27. Ah Yes... The All Knowing Al Gore Supporter
Thinks that Al Gore is the second coming of Mother Nature, and does not want his skirts soiled in the messy world of politics.

And... appears on EVERY FUCKING THREAD with "Al Gore" in the title.

We get it RG, we really, really, get it.

And if he decides to save the planet from outside of politics, so be it. He deserves to do whatever the hell he wants.

But if he decides to jump in... What? You gonna be against him?

30. Aww, did I spoil your shallow little party?
And no, you don't get it. This thread makes it obvious for all to see, and especially the BS about "him" saving the planet, because you don't get that it requires all of us now and is not just some political sound bite to be used for your own devices. And no, I will never be against him and do not post in EVERY THREAD about him because I am actually doing something OFF this forum. I am not against him like you obviously are now regarding him because he actually has the resources and spirit to do this his way instead of cowing down to a bunch of political operatives only looking for a "win." So why don't you just go play in your delusions while those of us living in reality actually HELP HIM with this. OK?

31. Yeah, I Was Having A Little Fun Late Last Night...
If that's shallow, so what?

You were the first here to toss your thread turd into the punch bowl. As you have done OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Sorry about your humorectomy.

And BTW - if this is the manner in which you draw converts to your cause, you need to go back to your management (and anger management) classes.

Could it be that YOU are causing harm to the very movement to profess to support?

36. If you can't take criticisms of your thoughts, then don't put them out there
And this isn't about ME, nor is it MY cause, it is a crisis that effects us all and this is YOUR thread, but nice try. BTW, did you sign the Live Earth pledge since you seemed to have no problem having "fun" showing a pic from it? And please tell the truth.

38. LOL !!! - First Of All...
I will change four light bulbs to CFLs at my home. - Virtually every light in the house is CFL.

I will ride public transit or carpool one or more times per week. - Take light-rail to work every day.

I will shop for the most energy efficient electronics and appliances. - Yep.

I will forward a Live Earth email message to 5 friends. - Went to Live Earth Party. (Does that count?)

I will shut off my equipment and lights whenever I'm not using them. - Yep

Add my name to the Live Earth pledge. - Just did, right now, just for you.

But please, for the love of Gore... some of us need bits of rest and humor every now and again so we don't go fucking mad.

You would deny that to me\us, would you?

:hi:

Too hard on the knees.

He's doing the elliptical machine for a half-hour a day, and weights three times a week.

11. Looks like he's doing South Beach or Atkins, too.
Low-carb diets tend to help those of us with excess skin lose more rapidly. My skin problems are in my stomach thanks to having two kids. Al's is in his jowls and gullet (in fact, his face sometimes makes him look much heavier than the rest of his body). He looks tighter and firmer in that picture.

18. Oh, no, not when you're Al Gore
Not if you are a father wanting to look good for your daughter's wedding... not if you are a man looking to be travelling in the next three years taking your wonderful slide show and training to India, South America, and Africa where education on this is needed most... not if you are a statesman looking to head a three year blitz to save our planet because we are running out of time for that window to close... or not if you are simply a man who wants to stay healthier. Oh no, not if you are Al Gore and you are the Messiah to a group of people who are so out of touch with reality, that they cannot even see how important the work he is already doing is.

22. Skinner, can we have a macro
that will generate several subthreads that say "yes he will" / "no he won't?"

you could grab about fifteen or twenty examples from any given days postings over the past year or so, and just sort of randomize their sequencing - then auto-generate the responses to every Al Gore thread. It would save us all a lot of trouble and maybe we could stay focused on shit like what Edwards really meant and how Kucinich is a stepchild and stuff.

maybe then we would have some time left over to actually think about the fact that our fucking government has been taken over and we need a concerted, focused, wartime mentality to fucking take it back, but we are playing into their hands squabbling instead of teaming, as are most of the candidates.
