Ralph Nader considering 2008 presidential run
READING, Pennsylvania (AP) - Consumer advocate Ralph Nader says he's considering running for president, and accuses Democrats of trying to shut smaller parties out of the political process.

Nader said there should be a single federal statute to govern ballot access for candidates for federal office, which he said would make it easier for independent candidates.

41. I've seen a few around here..
but I think most of them aren't really Democrats, just claim to be so they don't get T.S.'d.

3. good grief Ralph - give it a rest. Haven't the past 5 years PROVEN there was indeed a difference
between Democrat and Republican? Wasn't THAT your main thesis before - didn't matter if you voted for bush or Gore because there was absolutely NO DIFFERENCE?

Please - you have already irreparably harmed you reputation (think Colin Powell) kindly spare us all and be content to pontificate at length from the sidelines.... where the damage you can create will be minimal.

5. Ralph just spoke to the Greens
But he wasn't on the list of applicants for the Green Party nomination that a DU blogger who was at the convention posted. I thought they dumped Nader in 2004.

14. Well, you've misread me
I like Ralph Nader very much.

However, I do not think he should run for President.

His time has passed. His usefulness remains as an advocate of alternative energy.

30. Mr. Nader is as disillusioned as Mr. Bush - Is he unwilling, unable, or
so overtaken by his own sense of self-importance and ego-driven manical madness that he is living in some kind of parallel universe!?!?!!??!?! I will NEVER forgive him for Florida and the 2000 sElection. NEVER - EVER.
It's almost impossible for me not to think on a weekly basis of what our country and our planet would be like had President Gore been our Leader.......:-(
