How to get out of Iraq
Fling money. Lots of money. Busy people making lots of money, constructing, repairing, with meaninful jobs don't have time to fight.

How many billions? At least as many spent reducing this poor country to ruins. To all those arseholes who suggest that everything will be fixed by the Iraqi parliament not taking a break - where the fuck do you arrogant pricks get off? You broke this country and I hope you pay for years to come to fix the damage you have wrought.

1. Is there not one American
who believes the USA should pay for the death, torture, carnage, destruction that has been wrought in their name?

Thought not. Compassion for the Iraqis stops dead at the dollar.

2. We are pumping billions already, it doesnt help
All the money is just being stolen or used for purposes other than it's intent. I'm not blaming the Iraqis, but the USA is not going to able to fix this for them. Yes, we are responsible, yes we invaded their country, that was a huge mistake, but they are a sovereign nation and need to set up their own government and get their shit together, whether it is one country or three. They are fortunate because they have oil and can generate money to fund reconstruction and build their country back up.

3. Sadly..
their oil will be stolen from them, and competing factions will be fighting over this territory for years to come.

For all of the evils that Saddam perpetrated, at least he was able to keep a relative peace. That's gone for the foreseeable future. There are no good answers here.

Welcome to DU!!

4. As my dad says, you can't unring a bell
We can't undo an invasion and occupation. Our leadership failed and created a mess. However, we can't babysit forever.
