New documents suggest broader White House involvement in replacing New Mexico prosecutor
Michael Roston
Published: Wednesday August 1, 2007

New documents turned over to Congressional investigators Wednesday show that a White House official echoed a message from the office of Senator Pete Domenici to the Justice Department seeking the installation of a new 'team' in New Mexico's US Attorneys office.

" mentioned he had chatted with you today about his request for a non-partisan team that specializes in corruption to be sent down to New Mexico," wrote Andrea Becker Looney, then the Special Assistant to the President in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, in a Dec. 21, 2006 e-mail to William Moschella, a top Justice Department official.

Domenici is currently under investigation by a Senate ethics watchdog for appearing to interfere with a public corruption investigation that David Iglesias, former US Attorney to New Mexico, was engaged in last Fall. Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM) also contacted Iglesias, but no ethics charges have been brought against her in the House.

Iglesias was asked to step down on Dec. 7, and formally resigned in 2007.

2. Face it Bush plans were to make it a un-workable govt. and
then turn it over to private business. He seems to have messed up every agency in the govt.He had to have the DOJ working with him on all counts and some of these lawyers were just not zealots. One needs zealots to re-make the govt. to fit the eyes of these nuts We have not seen the end of this mess yet.

9. This is why I like Gravel and Kucinich.
They seem to be the people that actually want to be honest on many subjects like corruption and taxes and such but thats also why they wont get the same coverage from the media. I have actually been amazed that Kucinich has got some coverage, when I hear him mentioning that impeachment word. I continue to talk to as many people as I can but I also sit wondering what its going to be like when the machine changes something that drastically changes our country and all the folks that are blind to the agenda are hurt by it. Thats when it gets ugly!

5. Bingo. Use your own failed government as a talking point to give power to your own company
After all, Bush's code name is "Temporary". I think that defines his approach to the presidency.

13. I am not sure about that but they do see these things as a way to
make money even if the tax payers paid for to get started. This type things goes on over and over. Right now I would say water and parks are up for grab and just who owns them and who will and make the money in the end. I mean you have states selling off highways. Park land and water will also go unless some one can get ahold of this type of stuff. Heck one must recall that the King of England used to own all our good tall trees for his navy. Not cutting the trees was a law the people of this country put in in I think was 1621. They did not want to end up like in England where the King had the say and could give out rights to who could do what on his land or your land. I mean how do you think all those Lords ended up owning most of England. They were going to do the same here only we were to far away to get a good hold on it.
