Clovis, CA Second Son Dies in Iraq
Edited on Thu Aug-23-07 12:21 AM by vanlassie
The Hubbard family of Clovis has lost a second son to the war in Iraq, according to the Clovis Police Department.

Army Specialist Nathan Hubbard, 21, was killed while serving his country. The military has not yet released any details surrounding Hubbard’s death.

The Hubbard family received notification of his death Wednesday afternoon.

In 2004, Nathan's brother Lance Corporal Jared Hubbard and his childhood friend Jeremiah Baro were killed in action near Ramadi in November of 2004.

Both Nathan and a third brother, Jason Hubbard, joined the the Army in 2005 following Jared's death.

2. I have a son ...
... I can't think about what it would be to lose him, under any circumstances. I can't even go there, even as a hypothetical 'what-if' in my mind.

To lose two would be more than one heart should have to bear.

5. I live in the hell hole of Fresno, right next to Clovis.
There's a pretty strong anti-bush/-war feeling in certain areas, but most of Fresno/Clovis is RW territory. The local paper (Fresno Bee) is fairly liberal, as reflected in their editorials, but their LTTE pages are filled with rants from the fantasy-based community who love bush almost as much as Jeebuz. Yet even here, bush's war is increasingly unpopular. Local media still waves the flag when some local kid dies for no reason, but they've yet to ask the question, "why?"

Perhaps that will begin to change with this sad and unnecessary death.

Hey! Maybe we should have some sort of DU Fresno/Tulare/Kings meet up at some point...?
