Ever wonder how big al Queda organization is? Here's your answer
The United Natiions Security Council Committee has released a list of known al Queda operatives around the globe.

There are 223 individuals on the list.

Their country of origin is very interesting...information we should have been informed of.

The following list begins with information on known Taliban. The list of al Queda is about one-third down the list.

http://www.un.org/sc/committees/1267/consoltablelist.shtml

The UN Site where this info comes from:

http://www.un.org/sc/committees/1267/

There are approx. 500,000 troops in Iraq - that includes US troops, coalition troops, Iraq army troops that have been trained and armed, and mercenary troops. This number has been compiled from several official sites. 500,000 troops vs. 223 al Queda.
The little president needs to quit using al Queda as the enemy we need to defeat in Iraq. Makes him look even stupider. (Not that that is possible).

I never figured al Queda was a very large organization. Bush implies that there are thousands and thousands.

21. By killing a million in Iraq, bush made sure al Queda WOULD become bigger
and a nastier threat, thus assuring Military Industrial Complex profits into the next two or three generations.

17. Well...
223 known al Queda. There are most likely more than that. It's not like they register at alqueda.com and can be easily counted.

I'm not in any way defending this fuck-up of an administration, their war on terra, or their idea that al Queda is hiding is every shadow. But to imply that al Queda's size is just 223 is disingenuous. Of course if you really believe those numbers are accurate, well that's just dumb.

18. But surely our crack intelligence people would know
the extent of the enemy. It would be naive to say that there are ONLY 223 members but if this list is an indication of their scope, the numbers and nationality are a surprise.

And remember, the littlest president has warned that al Queda will follow us here if we leave iraq. All 223 of them.

26. "most likely" based on what?
It is perfectly possible there are only a couple hundred of them.

This is fringe group of nutcases. The right wing tries to paint it as so huge it encompasses every Muslim.

It's a terrorist group. For that, 223 is a lot.

23. Nevertheless...
Dubya sez:

we shall fight on the seas and oceans (UNTIL WE SEE "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED),
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our (TURTLE) Island, whatever the cost may be (IN TRILLIONS),
we shall fight on the beaches (BUT NOT THE PRIVATE BEACHES),
we shall fight on the landing grounds (IF THE ASPHALT ISN'T TOO ERODED),
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets (AWAY FROM CRAWFORD),
we shall fight in the hills (BEVERLY HILLS IS A GO);
we shall never surrender (UNTIL CONGRESSIONAL SONS AND DAUGHTERS HAVE TO GO) ...

Thanks for this eye-opening information!

Occupation of Iraq & Afghanistan & the accusations on Iran are about this "War On Terror".

This is all about Oil, Natural Gas & Water Control.
