Light at the end of the tunnel.
We should all take this little test (poll).
List the voting record of each major candidate, along with their stance on ALL the major issues of our time. Include each candidate’s vision of how they will specifically change the present course of our country. Remove the money advantages, and the sound bites, and the Madison Avenue gloss. And be sure to remove the candidate’s name. Then have voters select their candidate based on the above. Once selected, show the candidate’s name to the voter.
Forget about who will or will not win. In reality, all honest elections are only about votes. And all honest democratic governments reflect the ACTUAL desires of the voters. If, after taking the little test above, the majority of voters then VOTE in Nov of 2008 for a candidate who actually DOESN’T represents the voters’ stance on the issues and has no intention of making the changes the voters would like to see, the resulting government will, in reality, never represent what the voters want from their government. That’s why we NEVER elect a government we would truly like to have representing us.
It’s very, very simple. The only thing you have control of, is YOUR VOTE. Focus on what you actually have control of. Don’t let anyone or anything convince you to give up that control (as in who is “electable”, or who has the support of labor or big business, or what political party do I belong to). Let everything else go, and VOTE for the ideas and the government YOU agree with and would like to see in effect. That’s the only true democracy. It takes true courage and fortitude to stand up for what you rationally concluded and believe in. Any other action is support for a government based on FEAR. Those people and institutions that control our government now, have always done so through FEAR, or the absence of reason. They, in turn, FEAR most the rationally thinking individual who is in control of their actions. When rationally thinking voters who are in total control of their vote eventually become the overwhelming majority of any nation, their democratically elected government will only then represent the interests and desires of the majority of voters of that nation.
If you achieve this consciousness, you no longer have to support or work for the election of any single candidate. Instead, it becomes your responsibility to raise the consciousness of every other potential voter you encounter to a similar level, in effect to reach the goal of a rationally thinking governing majority.
