It seems obvious now: An attack on Iran is in the works so I have to ask, where's the outrage? The US cannot win a war with Iran in any sense, military, economic or cultural. More to the point, such an attack would claim thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of lives, mostly innocent...
Fuck it. I can't come up with pretty words this time. Get on the streets, storm the fucking capital if needs be. Yes, they might well try and stop you, some of you might even die. I'm sorry about that but there is no nobler cause than to die so others may live. I'm sorry I can't be more positive but you're hanging in the balance right now. Nothing is going to satisfy Cheney's bloodlust or Bush's arrogance or both of their megalomania so get on the streets, fight for peace. Someone sends me a plane ticket, I'll come stand with you. For fuck's sake, STOP THESE MANIACS!
EDIT: I'll be honest with you here. I'm scared. I don't scare easily. I was a amateur boxer, amateur and semi-pro wrestler and taught self-defence. I've been in places where going armed was absolutely necessary to survival and I've seen far more death than I ever wanted or needed to. I'm not scared that I'd be drafted. I'm a Brit and even if our nation was suicidal enough to follow yours into this meat-grinder, I'm far too broken-down to be drafted. But I have a family, I have friends and quite a few of them are American. Two of them (brothers) are Iranian. I don't want them to die. I don't want thousands of innocent Iranians to die either. Bottom line, there's been enough killing.
There's a storm coming, one way or another and it's going to break over all of us. Is anyone listening, even now or am I just playing Cassandra again, gifted with sight but doomed to be disbelieved? I don't think we can avoid that storm anymore, I'm not sure we ever could but we can choose how long it lasts and what form it takes. We can get our representatives to fight for us or we can take to the streets and fight ourselves but one way of another, that fight is coming.
