2. As regards "The Day the Clown Cried..."

It has never been seen. Scripts have been published for it, and here's an Internet connection to a web site:

There have always been rumors that Lewis has, or had, a videotape copy of the movie hidden in a safe, and has only shown it to a few trusted friends. There was a piece in the late, lamented Spy Magazine that talked about the film.

This almost begs for someone to use modern videotape and editing tech and film their own version of The Day The Clown Cried. It wouldn't and couldn't make money, but it would be extremely illustrative. And it would be even better if a Jerry Lewis impersonator played the part of the clown.

(One of my favorite underground delights is The Jet Benny Show, where a Jack Benny impersonator did a Star Wars ripoff with Benny, and a robotic Rochester, playing the main parts. The Day the Clown Cried - The Remake would be a genuine delight.)
