The surge must go on, Petraeus to tell Congress

The Bush administration's most senior advisers on Iraq, the commander of US forces, General David Petraeus, and the ambassador to Baghdad, Ryan Crocker, will launch a new drive today to defer any exit of troops until April 2008 amid growing doubts about their credibility in Congress and among the public.
In two days of testimony before Congress, Gen Petraeus and Mr Crocker will make the case for the White House that America should maintain the current strategy and force levels in Iraq.

The appearance of Gen Petraeus has drawn comparisons with General William Westmoreland's bullish assessment in 1967 of progress in the Vietnam war, a note underlined by Democratic senators yesterday who said they doubted that the general's testimony would be free of influence from the Bush administration.

1. General Petraeus will testify as to his own best judgment, free of influence from the White House.
But his view is bound to be on the rosy side, which is quite natural for one such as the good general who has his nose stuck up Bush's ass.

4. Bullshit! General Peaches is SERVING what the WH and The Military Industrial Complex
order for him. WTF is the matter with you folks who are blinded by a man with stars on his uniform?!? :wtf: !!!

If Petraeus had any honor, he would have resigned in protest like several TRULY HONORABLE, now retired, General Officers.

Petraeus and the rest of the active duty Generals left after *several purges* are morally bankrupt. He's no better than any spring-butt civilian neo-con from AEI.

Petraeus, et. al. = "Here's your shit sandwich, American People. Really, eat it, it's good for you." :puke:

8. I assumed your "Bullshit!" was in response to my post, which started off

saying General Petraeus will testify as to his own best judgment, but concluded that his "best judgment" was colored by his nose being stuck up Bush's ass.

:hi:

The world always looks rosy when you have your nose up Dubya's ass. I don't think we are in disagreement.

9. Oh, Benhurst - you're right, in that I should have responded to the original post.
Please accept my genuine and humble apologies? I hate to admit - but I did have my head somewhat up my own ass by not fully reading your post. Now I get it!

12. Accepted.
I hope the committee grills his sorry ass when he testifies; but I fear they won't.
