9/11 Families See Through Timing of the Petraeus Surge Testimony
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 02:23 PM by BurtWorm
Received via e-mail:

The group September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows
(<http://www.peacefultomorrows.org>), made up of families of the victims
of the 9-11 attacks, has released a statement regarding the timing of
the testimony of Gen. David Petraeus. It reads in part:

"The timing of this testimony is another attempt by government officials
to force a non-existent connection between the events of 9-11 and this
administration's disastrous policy of invasion and war in Iraq. The 9-11
Commission found there was no operational or cooperative relationship
between Al Qaida and Iraq. It is widely understood today that this
administration's actions in Iraq have in fact created a terrorist
sanctuary where none previously existed, at a cost of more American
lives than were lost on 9-11, tens of thousands maimed and wounded, and
over 100,000 Iraqi dead.

"Six years after September 11, 2001, politicians, from the White House
to the halls of Congress, continue to abuse the memory of our loved ones
who died in that attack by attempting to invoke their and our suffering
to further this administration's political goals. As we have stated on
previous occasions, we ask any and all politicians and candidates for
office to respect the memory of the innocent lives lost on 9-11 by
refraining from using the 9-11 sites, memorials, and anniversaries for
political ends, either explicitly or as political 'backdrop.'"

2. Bring a substantial number of troops home right before the elections to give the republicans.....
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 03:21 PM by LaPera
a boost....

The surge provided those extra troops, it'll be about the same number of troops coming home as the surge provided, and a bit more for good measure to make sure the republicans have something to run on in November next year....the republicans will call it VICTORY!

And the republican corporate media will go along and push it as such.

And after the elections, Bush be "forced" to bring back more troops to the region because we'll be in so thick with Iran so to keep Bush's never ending wars for profit going for a long time and to purposely bankrupt every social program domestically as possible.

This is exactly what the Bush plan has been from the beginning when the Dems won last November and BushCo started bringing up "the surge".

They'll get their way again to keep profits rolling in...caring not the slightest bit of kids dying for their profits!

4. If thats the case, we shoulndt vote for any candidate that doesnt stand up!
Our presidential candidates better stand up and speak out for the American people, even if they say they cant end it alone, they can certainly raise some hell like Americans are. If a candidate cant support the American people on this one, they don't deserve our votes!

5. Remember Nixon's "secret plan" to end the war????
That he whipped out right before the election in '72? That plan was imaginary.

And the idiot electorate believed it.

12. I haven't heard the Dems say Iraq attacked us on 9-11.
If anything, I've heard them deny that repeatedly.
