Living with THIS:

<snip>

Constructive criticism of Democrats or the Democratic Party is permitted. When doing so, please keep in mind that most of our members come to this website in order to get a break from the constant attacks in the media against our candidates and our values. Highly inflammatory or divisive attacks that echo the tone or substance of our political opponents are not welcome here.

You are not permitted to use this message board to work for the defeat of the Democratic Party nominee for any political office. If you wish to work for the defeat of any Democratic candidate in any General Election, then you are welcome to use someone else's bandwidth on some other website.

Democratic Underground may not be used for political, partisan, or advocacy activity by supporters of any political party or candidate other than the Democratic Party or Democratic candidates. Supporters of certain other political parties may use Democratic Underground for limited partisan activities in political races where there is no Democratic Party candidate.

Do not post broad-brush smears against Democrats or the Democratic Party.

2. You'll figure it out or work it out!
I remember being in a minority, despising Zell Miller, well before it was "cool" to do so.

And, yes, even though I live in TN I do come here to see what's going on in other parts of the country, and to get a break! :hi:

9. Not everyone lives in CA. I don't know anything about Ms. Spears'
nanny, nor do I care. Yes, I do come here to get perspectives from fellow citizens, and thanks for the insult.

12. DU is a walk in the park for me
You have no how idea carefully I have to word an essay to get a LTTE published that still conveys my point. And that's in a real newspaper, not an internet forum.

I still try, and I refuse to give up.

It can get frustrating, but I believe that what I have to say is worth the extra effort.

5. (With my mod hat on) The key is constructive criticism.
Democratic Underground is *not* affiliated with the party, and comments here are not representative of the party or its candidates. It's a simple disclaimer.

And, yes, we don't permit advocating for candidates who are opposing Democrats in a general election. It's called Democratic Underground for a pretty obvious reason.

Democratic primaries are another matter. This is our big ballgame, as a party and as a diverse group of citizen politicos - across the Democratic spectrum - with a vested interest in political outcomes.

We encourage civility in our discourse, consideration in our disagreements and an eye on the prize.

(Mod hat off)

6.  I Agree With All That...
But when you are a life-long, continually voting, DEMOCRAT, as I am, and when your party seems to be making all the wrong moves...

I don't get to call them a bunch of doody-headed nincompoops???

That's just not right.

I think I've earned it.

Not constructive mind you, but earned.

why. Not knowing sucks more than knowing.

Make up your minds!

10. I Know... I Love The Mods, And That Job Ain't Easy, But...
Sometimes a really cool, or thought provoking thread gets locked with a verse from one of the ten commandments, and ya sit there wondering what ya did wrong.

4. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Well there goes photo-shopping!

Maybe we should have a DU Thunderdome.

The mods move a questionable post to the dome, we duke it out, and if it survives, it gets a set of wings.

14. I have my own issues, and it's not I/P, 9./11, it's one woman.
Yes, the dreaded 'CINDY SHEEHAN'. I've had so many threads deleted for no reason that has been explained to me.
WHY is she a bad person, besides her recent turn on taking on Pelosi?
As with everything, why not leave a thread up there for info? Especially the ones I post that don't mention another party? I'm not getting it, and think some mods might use their emotions amd DU powers, which is why I haven't been a mod. :hi:

That just bugs me... I have tried to communicate with mods occasionally, and never got a response.
